A very peaceful place to stay. Was well stocked with everything needed for your stay. Perfect place to stay if visiting Maggie Valley since its not far to get there. Loved seeing the views and the snow on our final day.
Very beautiful views from the deck. I would definitely go back.

Beautiful view, but didn’t get to enjoy
We booked this cabin pretty last minute (a week before) and attempted to stay here for a long weekend. We arrived and didn’t have the code to get in the door so we went into the lovely little town to have dinner and wait for the owner to send the code. She sent the code about 30 minutes after we called and messaged. On the way back it was raining and the steep drive in the dark was pretty nerve wracking. This drive isn’t for the faint of heart, especially in even a little rain. The first night I had a pretty bad asthma attack and considered going to the ER. Spent the majority of the night sitting outside on the covered porch trying to breathe and praying we didn’t have to drive back down the mountain in the dark to go to the ER. We left the following morning and paid to stay elsewhere without another incident with my asthma. The views here are absolutely beautiful. The outside of the cabin is clean and in good shape. The inside appears clean but it has older furnishings and something that triggered my asthma. We talked to the owner who suggested we open the windows and let the cabin air out. She suggested perhaps it was the Lysol they cleaned with that was triggering my asthma. We opened all the windows and fans as soon as we came in because the cabin was stuffy. It didn’t smell like Lysol. She explained that she would not give a partial refund because it was her business and she could have rented it to someone else. We paid for three nights and stayed one. We basically had to pay for two vacations since we had to rent another cabin. Plus, we spent our first night of vacation in misery and unable to breathe. But I guess it worked out for her business. I understand and appreciate that this is her business but treating customers this way isn’t good business. Even offering to help us find something else would have been nice. We would not book again.
We had a very fun and relaxing weekend at Mountain Memories. Our favorite part was the hot tub. It was very clean and easy to use.
We cooked a few meals while we were there and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and eat with. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of blankets were provided. We found the heat setting a little difficult to control, but after the 1st day were able to get it just right for us.
It’s a long drive up the mountain from the main road and most of it is dirt. This wasn’t an issue for us but if you go in the winter when there is snow you’ll need a 4 wheel drive.
It has amazing views day and night! It is centrally located and a short drive will take you into downtown Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Cherokee, and the Blue Ridge Ridge Parkway. We went to Biltmore and it took us less than an hour to get there.
Mountain Memories is everything we hoped it would be and we can’t wait to go back!
Great place to get away from it all! Beautiful Clean Cabin with an Amazing View! Would definitely stay again and definitely recommend to family and friends!
Although the ride up to the cabin was somewhat difficult in a large truck we eventually figured out the best route and got to experience the beautiful view of the mountains the next morning. The cabin was a cozy and quaint little cabin that had everything you needed. Including a relaxing hot tub
We had the best vacation at Mountain Memories! The hosts were wonderful. The views from the cabin are indescribable! The cabin is stocked with everything you would need for a vacation. The location is convenient - it only took us about ten minutes to get down the mountain to Maggie Valley . We used the dirt road to access the cabin with no issues. We enjoyed seeing the waterfalls (Mingo Falls was our favorite). BearWaters was our favorite place to eat! Our family vacation was everything we hoped it would be and more!!!

Besties weekend getaway
Very cute cabin with fantastic views. The hot tub was hot and ready to use. We wish the drive up to the cabin was detailed in the description of the rental as it was nerve wracking and wouldn’t want to do it at night or in questionable weather. Even with perfect weather it isn’t for the faint of heart and best for crossovers or small SUV vehicles.
We had a great stay at this secluded mountain cabin. There were only 2 of us, but there was room for another couple. All of the amenities we needed were provided. We grilled our meals, used the stovetop and oven, and spent an inordinate amount of time in the hot tub. The hot tub was slightly difficult to operate, but we got the hang of it quickly. The cabin was very clean. My partner is a stickler for dirt, so the cleanliness of the place made her exceptionally happy. The owner was very communicative and helped us figure out the hot tub. The smart tv and bluetooth speaker made our experience even better. We fully intend to return here for our next mountain getaway. Highly recommend.
When I read the reviews about the drive up to the cabin being rough, I thought to myself probably just city folks that aren't use to gravel roads. Well I was glad we had a 4wheel drive truck. Road is rough and lots of sharp turns. Sometimes hard to tell if you are suppose to go this way or that way. No ac in August was uncomfortable during daytime. Beds didn't sleep well...new mattress needed.
It was my fiancés and mine first trip together and we enjoyed every bit of it. We gained lifetime memories from the cabin to the parks it was all amazing. The rental property was great I would go back in a heart beat we did not want to leave.
The cabin was amazing! Nicely decorated with great views! The hot tub was a welcome treat each night after a long day hiking in the mountains. The owners were prompt to answer any questions I had, they even came and blew the leaves off the deck (stayed in the fall after the colors had changed). Was a very relaxing vacation and would definitely stay here again!
The first time driving up to the cabin is a bit nerve racking but well worth it. I didn't catch it didn't have A/C but it was hot in town but at the cabin is high enough it stays cool. The hot tub is great after walking trails and seeing the sites. The view in the mornings is awesome of the mountain. The host are very nice. I am sure we will come back out again.
Definitely a great place to go. Absolute beautiful Scenery I highly recommend! It was clean everything got to descriptions as listed just an over all beautiful cabin thank you again for letting us stay!
The property and hosts were fabulous! So peaceful and view was great! It does take a bit to get used to the drive up the mountain and be sure to use the directions that are listed as best route by Monica do not follow your map application. It was our anniversary get away and perfect! Thank you Monica and Merv!!
This place was exactly as listed and such an amazing time and biew was breathtaking driveway was not exactly motorcycle friendly/bit terrifying but after doing it the first time get the feel down great communication with owners as well
The altitude of this cabin needs to be listed better for those of us who have health issues. The hot tub was overly done on the cleaner so we could not even get in it. There were cob webs everywhere. The cabin is too far from anything really. The trash is not located at the property and is very hard to locate we never did find the one with chain link fence. Taking your trash 30 minutes is really out of the way.
My best friend and I work fast-paced, high-pressure jobs. We needed a weekend away on the top of a quiet mountain and Mountain Memories was the perfect spot for it. We enjoyed the views, the hot tub, and quaintness of the cabin. I am thankful for the weekend I got to spend relaxing in the mountains.
