This Gun Lake neighborhood home is the perfect quiet vacation getaway and great place make memories! All you need to bring are your food, clothing and personal items (toothbrush, toothpaste, shaver, etc), fishing gear if you fish, a boat if you have a boat or plan on renting one on the lake, and you're good to go! Gun Lake is extremely popular for competition fishing, pleasure boating, skiing, tubing, and swimming off the small beach we have at the house in the extra wide channel or off a boat or at one of the public beaches on the lake. There is a large yard, private deck as well as a private dock to enjoy the quiet waterfront lifestyle relaxing on the deck or on the boardwalk watching the fish and ducks. If staying in the warm months, you can use the kayaks, paddleboards, or moor a boat at the dock as there are both cleats and bumpers ready for you in the extra wide channel. The living room boasts cathedral ceilings and is spacious and opens up to the dining area/Kitchen. The kitchen features all new top of the line stainless steel appliances, solid surface countertops, breakfast bar with stools, and dining area. The kitchen is stocked with almost anything at your own home, from the waffle maker to the griddle for pancakes, to the coffee maker, to silverware and all the plates and cups and other utensils and such you would expect.. There are 3 bedrooms that have king size beds and also each have a dresser, night stand, lamp, flat screen smart TV's, new carpeting. closet and ceiling fan for relaxing on vacation. The 4th bedroom/family room is off the kitchen and features not just a bunk bed but also a twin size bed, and a queen size hide-a-bed couch and a Roku TV. The large deck is great for relaxing in the shade as it is on the N side of the house away from the sun and even has a natural gas grill for making burgers or sizzling up some steaks or fish and enjoying the relaxing waterfront neighborhood atmosphere. There is Charter Spectrum high speed Wi-Fi so you can watch streaming movies or TV shows or get work done while everyone is out on the lake in the warm months or while skiing or ice fishing in the winter. For Spring/Summer/Fall guests there are 2 paddle boards, 2 one person kayaks and a 2 person canoe that are by the beach area awaiting captains! There is also a fire pit area great for cooking hot dogs and marshmallows. For winter guests the ice is great for skating and ice fishing, just make sure it is solid and take all necessary precautions like wearing a provided life vest over your coat and don't ever do it alone just to ensure safety. For those planning to ski at one of the nearby ski resorts, just know that by car Bittersweet Ski Resort is only 22 miles or 28 minutes away, and Timber Ridge is only 26 miles or 34 minutes away. As long as the nights are below freezing these resorts make their own snow and usually are open and everyone has a great time. Remember this is a grandfathered and registered short term rental in an area where unregistered properties are not allowed to be rented short term. As such there are rules associated with all short term rentals that must be followed at all times. Some of the primary ones are that there can be no barking dogs, so if you are bringing a dog, if it is known to bark make sure you use a shock collar and definitely in a cage if leaving alone. Also there cannot ever be more than three vehicles at the property at any time including inside the garage. There must also not be any trash showing outside of the bin that is provided. There’s also a strict 11 PM curfew for the entire lake including the campground so no outdoor talking or bonfires or that kind of thing after 11 PM. These are obviously simple rules to follow and there is a list of them as well but these are the most important. The washer and dryer are there for you to use as well as detergent and fabric softener, so no need to ever visit a laundromat while staying here and you don't need to bring cleaning supplies. We also have everything like washcloths, body shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. We also have a new Keurig machine which also has a regular coffee maker in it so if you plan to use the Keurig feature just bring the K cups with you :-) Book your next memory making trip today! ## Property amenities ### Beach - Overall great and would stay again. My main critique is that the listing does not detail the hard 11 PM quiet time in the neighborhood. It was disappointing to get those details a few days before. We would have loved to enjoy the fire pit and the deck at night but what’s the point in starting a fire if you have to go inside in an hour or 2\. The house has clean, uncluttered and comfortable living space, tidy bathrooms, comfortable king-size beds in the primary bedrooms, plenty of hooks where you need them, and an easy kitchen to cook in and prepare food. The yard had a nice deck, shade trees and sunny areas providing plenty of space to relax and launch the kayaks, and enjoy the fire pit. Gun Lake is a large and deep lake which made fishing great; large mouth bass and northerns were the largest catches, with blue gills and perch the easy catches. Having a marina right on the lake made pontoon rental a breeze. The Russo’s Pizzeria, very nearby, was another great resource in the area! Plenty of beds, towels, kitchen ware etc. We would definately rent again. We did have trouble with the TV in the living room. We were unable to use WiFi to stream a movie from Amazon Prime. This is your low key destination. My brother and I stayed here with our families (5 adults, 3 teenagers, 1 child, 1 dog and brought my boat). We had one incident and the property manager communicated quickly. This was a great place for all of us. It was SO relaxing! I use VRBO about once a year and we always end up with backaches due to the beds. The beds in this house were amazing! SO comfortable! (my sister-in-law liked the bedding so much that she looked it up online to purchase) This may be the only VRBO that I have stayed at that I would visit again. ##### allison c. It had everything we needed, the location was great, we rented a boat and tied up at their pier, used the kayak, enjoyed the hot tub. You know how some places offer you a thimble full of supplies (dish soap, paper towels, laundry soap, etc) when you get there? Well that won't happen here. The owner seems to care about our experience and we had everything we needed. Nice quiet neighborhood, great deck. We bought wood but didn't get a chance to use the fire pit - maybe next time. Nice clean house on a beautiful channel! Nice long driveway with a 2 car garage would easily fit 2 cars in garage and 2 trucks with trailers plus some. Dock space was a little tight for our 24 ft crownline but it all worked out. Neighbors on one side great other everyone else not so welcoming. So if you are looking to be able to talk outside and have a fire and a good time this probably isn’t the house. Everything else was great!!!! ##### Renee D. So quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The listing is accurate. Which I appreciate. That is not always the case. Super clean! Plenty of space. Plenty of TVs. Nice sheets and towels. Comfy beds! Plenty of dishes and such in fully stocked kitchen. Very nice and safe neighborhood. Just two moms and two college daughters and we felt safe. Easy to reach for any questions and checked in with us several times during our stay. The home was great!! There were several extras that I just loved, like extra towel hooks for all of us in the bathroom. No looking for places to hang wet towels in your room. First time I have seen that and it was a big plus! We had plenty of life jackets to choose from so we all could be in the water at the same time if wanted. And the paddle boards and kayaks were perfect. Great place for the kids to stay safe too! We fed the ducks while there (they stayed at the neighbors). We also got a can of corn and fed the fish and had a few turtles come up. They liked like cut up hot dogs too!!! All the neighbors we talked to were super nice. Close to the stores if you needed to go grab something. We cooked at the house every night so I do not have a review on the restaurants. The beds were comfy. Plenty of pillows to choose from. There are dressers where you can put you clothes if wanted and hangers in the closets. The room with bunks was perfect for the kids. They were able to get away and have their own place to have fun.
