Direct Waterfront private house, NEW 40ft dock w/power, sleeps 8 in Wine Country
Welcome, to the Finger Lakes!
Located on the historic Cayuga-Seneca Canal, with 128 feet of waterfront, part of the Erie Canal Waterway, in the very epicenter of New York State Wine Country, across from a Wildlife Refuge this home, built in 1900, has all the charm of a country home while also having all contemporary features.
There are four full bedrooms, two full baths and ample additional living space. The kitchen is well equipped has tons of storage and is central to the rest of the house. The dining room is right off the kitchen and seats 8 comfortably. The large bonus room is off the kitchen as well where you can enjoy an after-dinner drink or, if you prefer, take it outside to the covered deck and relax and enjoy the surrounding peacefulness.
Recently added to the property is a new outdoor pavilion with a single car garage. Inside the garage you will find two kayaks with two life jackets, two swimming tubes, two sets of flippers and three goggles, two fishing poles, net, fully stocked tackle box and bait bucket. His and hers Mountain Bikes, a corn hole game, three camping chairs, fire-starters (paper) and a camp shovel for the fire pit and finally- bug spray.
The new pavilion has comfortable seating for 8, tables and overhead fan with light. The controller can be found on one of the cedar posts. Outside lighting is throughout the landscape, along the paths, steps and planters for your convenience and safety at night.
The expanded driveway can now easily accommodate four cars.
Seneca Lake, the largest and deepest of all the Finger Lakes, recognized as the Lake Trout Capital of the World is a casual boat ride via the canal. Off our NEW 40 foot, deep water dock with a NEW Power Tower, you can swim, fish or just relax nearby on the 5 Adirondack chairs that surround the fire pit, or relax (most likely sleep) on the hammock while seeing boats of every size and description go by. (Please note; the boat pictured with the accompanying photos is not part of the rental and will not be there when you rent the house so you can use the entire dock to swim, fish, relax on or dock your own boat.) From the occasional kayak, bass boat or yacht, the water is always calm and inviting. With a free public launch ramp only 3 blocks away on Oak Island, if you are a boater it does not get any better than that.
As an accommodation to our guests, we have made arrangements with Stivers Seneca Marine; a family owned marina operated by Donna and Bob Stivers, for a 10% Discount on a daily (eight hours) Pontoon Boat Rental. The family invites you to come and visit their marina and Tikka Bar for a refreshing drink after a day on the lake. To make arrangements and reserve a Pontoon Boat, a Discount Code will be provided to you once you arrive at our rental. Be sure to visit Stivers Seneca Marine in the meantime at http://www.stiverssenecamarine.com
In addition, if you are looking for some guidance on where the best fishing is try Roy’s Fishing Charters at www.roysboyscharters.com and if you call Captain Steve and use our Discount Code that will be texted to you on your arrival at the house you will get $25 off a 4 hour Charter!
Wine Country!!! So, much is said of the Seneca Wine Trails I’ll let these articles do the talking… https://senecalakewine.com/ https://senecalakewine.com/listings/
What else? Well, how about the Silver Creek Golf Course, a family owned and family friendly beautiful country golf course, just 1.4 miles away. Or, the many museums, all within a couple miles, not to mention that Waterloo is recognized as the National Birthplace of Memorial Day! Need more, OK how about the Del Lago Casino also 1.92 miles away.
So whether you want to relax and do nothing, or go and do everything, the option is yours.
Just enjoy!

The house is lovely, bright and clean, and the location is so idyllic. There were 6 of us and we thoroughly enjoyed spending as much time as we could in the yard, watching the boats go by and the wildlife. Some of us used the kayaks and bikes, which were a nice amenity. The property manager responded very quickly to my questions. We hope to come back someday!
We couldn’t have picked a better spot! The house was PERFECT for our long weekend getaway. The pavilion and the fire pit were definitely the favorites. The house is perfect-Plenty of room for a big family- the grill and the outside eating area were awesome. The bedrooms are good sizes and the beds are super comfy! Mike couldn’t have been better wirh communication! Check in was a breeze- we had one little blip and Mike not only responded lightening fast but our supplies arrived in record time. We look forward to staying here again!!!!
Comfortable well equipped house. Absolutely beautiful location. We loved peaceful grounds, and the view over the canal. It was great to have use of the kayaks- we enjoyed sunset and sunrise paddles, and seeing the wildlife. Would loved to have tried swimming in the canal, but wasn't quite warm enough. Took advantage of the discount for boat hire and had a great day on the lake. Would definitely recommend
We brought are own kayaks to travel the Erie Canal and the Seneca River. The house was conveniently located for both. Loved the nature we saw on the stretch of river near the house - eagles, a fox, an otter, herons, etc. Heard an owl while sitting in the yard. This is a beautifully landscaped property with plenty of outdoor seating. The house was well-appointed with kitchen supplies. The beds were comfortable. My husband and our three adult friends very much enjoyed our stay and would return if we are in the area again.
This is a nice home. The owner was responsive and very helpful during our stay. The home is well stocked and near the main street, which makes exploring easy. We enjoyed the patios and fire pit while there. In warmer weather, I would have enjoyed tubing or kayaking. I recommend this home if you are ever in the area.
The house and garden area have great indoor and outdoor gathering spaces for families and friends along with beautiful landscaping and views of the canal. We enjoyed our stay and the location is perfect for sightseeing in the fingerlakes area. Mike is easy to communicate with and we enjoyed our stay!
This was a great house for the five of us! It was beautifully decorated and very well equipped. There were many welcoming outdoor spaces for a sunny day. Gorgeous gardens! The hosts were very responsive and offered helpful suggestions about the area. The central location between Geneva and Seneca Falls was perfect for the activities we had planned. Highly recommended!
Beautiful well maintained home, although we spent most of our time enjoying the outdoors! The location is perfect, last home on dead end street with canal in your backyard. Loved watching boats, wildlife and taking kayaks out! Our favorite place for morning coffee and afternoon snacks/drinks was the finished space behind garage - peaceful spot with lots of comfortable seating and the yard was perfect space for some competitive lawn games! Evenings were spent conversing by the fire pit enjoying s’mores!! Loved the deck for dinner time, especially after grilling some awesome steaks! Didn’t get to use the outdoor pizza oven, but maybe next time! Host was terrific and quick response for all my inquires. Thank you for sharing this beautiful retreat!
The property is as pretty as seen in the pictures. It was very quiet and peaceful. There were stores within a couple of miles. It's in a pretty little town. We had a wonderful week with our family.
This was the second year we rented this home. House is clean and up to date. Having the dock is perfect for our fishing boat, hooking up our rafts to float and swimming. A nice yard, fire pit and pavilion to hang out. Quiet street.
This house has so many wonderful outdoor spaces. We especially enjoyed gathering before dinner on the covered patio attached to the garage facing the river. We are a family who loves to cook and the kitchen was so fully stocked we had everything we needed for some truly amazing meals. The house is centrally located between two of the finger lakes and surrounded by wineries. We took day trips to wineries and stopped at farm stands on our way home to make our evening meals. There are many spaces for a family to gather--the deck, the family room facing the river; there are also private spaces if you want some time to enjoy a good book!
From the booking to the end of our wonderful vacation, Mike and Paula were very available with communications. Their rental was perfect for our family. It was well appointed with everything we could need. We utilized every possible amenity available to us, from fishing to kayaking to corn hole to just relaxing and enjoying this beautiful, peaceful property. You will not be disappointed with this wonderful rental. we visited the local wineries, cheese tasting and hiking. being an outdoorsy family, we didn't have problems finding things to do. We will definitely came back. Thank you for helping to make our family vacation memorable!
Mike and Paula's home and property were beautiful! My family enjoyed the scenery the most from the backyard that gently comes to the canal. We went kayaking, rented a paddle boat, visited many wineries, hiked some waterfalls and baked apple pies after picking them at a nearby orchard. But the best were the moments spent in the lovely home and property with my grown kids. The many options for places to relax at the home were wonderful for our family of 7 to break into small groups or gather as a large group...much restoration of relationships and deepening of family love occurred... much enabled by Mike and Paula's home!
Our family had a wonderful week stay in this beautiful Waterloo home. The house is on a quiet dead end street with a great new dock on the seneca/Cayuga canal. We enjoyed cooking dinners in their well equipped kitchen and gas grill. The beds were so comfortable and the bathrooms had everything you needed and supplied with items you might have even forgotten.
The outside was so serene, and our family enjoyed kayaking and cornhole one afternoon. We had campfire s’mores too at the firepit.
The house is a great starting point for day trips to the wineries. We celebrated our son’s 21st birthday in style at Bellhurst Castle. Edgar’s steakhouse was a real treat.
Our hosts Paula and Mike were so accommodating. The communication was seamless. We are so glad to have found such a wonderful location in the Finger Lakes.
Thank you so much for your hospitality. We have been to the Finger lakes three other times, and have rented VRBO’s. This house was the best by far.
We can not wait to visit again and share more memories at this beautiful oasis. Thank you so much.
To start, I don't usually expect perfection in a rental. But in all honesty, the pictures did not do this property justice. It was by far the cleanest house we've ever stayed in. Easy to find, great amount of parking and the grounds gave us plenty to do! Fire pit with wood and paper to get you started, hammock, covered patio with seating and a beautiful view of the private expansive dock and canal. Deck with grill AND a pizza maker. The kitchen was fully loaded, lots of clean towels, two full bathrooms and 4 great sized bedrooms for a larger family ( we have 3 children and a Poppop with us and everyone got their own room. The older two children shared but there were twin beds and they loved it!) large dining room but honestly you'll never use it if the weather holds out. We got to use the kayaks that the owner generously left in the garage for renter use. We brought our own boat but they offer discount codes to rent a boat nearby and the ramp to put your own boat in is only 3 blocks away! I could honestly go on and on ( I mean Niagara Falls is an hour and a half away and we got to do that too!) Seneca lake is right down the canal about 25 minutes by boat in a no wake and you can fish all along the way!
Mike and Paula were always very prompt with answering any questions. We will definitely be return renters! Thank you so much for the experience. My girls never wanted to leave!
We had the most amazing time. There was so much to do on the property itself, however we did explore other areas. It was a great memorable vacation. We enjoyed every day. Thank you so much.
Very clean and well maintained property and true to the description and photos. We very much enjoyed our stay. We had a small mishap with with the master bedroom AC and the owner was very responsive to address the issue so all was well in the end.
We had a wonderful time! The home was welcoming and the owner’s attention to detail was outstanding. They really thought of everything. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were so comfortable. The grounds were beautiful. Communication with the owner was excellent. Ideal property for a family getaway.
