Perfect beach cottage
Beautiful cottage right in the beach! Fully stocked and comfortable. Would stay here again! Beautiful beach on the CT shore. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the waves.

Perfect Beach House
The location is perfect. The beach is very private and enjoyable. We love the sound of waves crashing and birds calling. Lots to do nearby if you want, but we preferred the serenity.

Driftwood is a piece of heaven.
Better than expected. This was a very peaceful cottage on the sound. I was surprised how loud the waves were. Wonderful place to celebrate, contemplate, laugh, cry, walk, collect rocks, Seaglass, bird watch have a glass of wine maybe a shot of tequila. Very beautiful will definitely return also communication with fantastic and the neighbors were exceedingly friendly long live Driftwood !

Property is beautiful and the location is unbeatable. Extremely relaxing and pleasant experience. The only problem was check in, as I did not get anything from VRBO ahead of time with check in information. Fortunately I was able to finally get in touch with the owner.

Serene beach getaway
This by far is the best rental property we have ever stayed at. The house is located in a charming, quiet neighborhood just steps from the beach. If you love listening to the sound of the waves, walking on the beach, and collecting shells/rocks, this is the perfect place to recharge. The house itself is thoughtfully laid out and decorated. Many conveniences such as a fully stocked kitchen, laundry, linens, towels, and beach supplies are included. My favorite part of each day was enjoying my morning coffee on the covered porch looking out at the ocean.

The home and the beachfront setting were great! My wife and I, and our dog, had a great time in the house and on the beach. Also the neighboring people were all nice and helpful, and if we needed anything stores and take-out was close by. We just had a great time there. Gary & Pam

The weather was crazy - cold and windy - and we still had a delightful time at Driftwood. In fact, my 79 year old mother told my brother and I that this was the best Mothers Day she has ever had. My husband loves to cook and the kitchen had everything he needed. Thank you so much for sharing your cozy beach home with us!

Location, location, location
This house is perfect for adults taking small children to the beach. You can keep them in eye sight. No big waves. We had one problem but the owner made things right. We were there before the high season so I don’t know how crowded the private beach is. The house is on a private road. There’s a reason it’s booked far in advance!

Driftwood is right on the beach, beautifully furnished with absolutely everything for a stay. Near great book stores in Niantic, sub base in Groton, Mystic - but you won’t want to leave! Be advised to bring water shoes for rocky beach.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage! Everything was as pictured and described on the VRBO website. Although the weather was colder than we would have liked, we were very comfortable inside the warmth of the cottage. And you can't beat the views! Simply amazing location! The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and the beds were very comfortable. Annie was very responsive if we had any questions. Our 2 dogs really enjoyed the beach during the off season. Beautiful quiet beach , clean cottage with a cozy porch .
Our stay was so relaxing and would definitely recommend this cottage. We plan to go back again.. I read a book sitting on porch overlooking the ocean. The cottage was fully equipped with everything needed. It was clean and comfortable.

Gem is the correct word for this property!
Although 'gem' really doesn't even do it justice! I have rented cottages and beach houses all over Connecticut and the northeast for years and I have finally found a little peace of heaven (or the Caribbean) right here in Connecticut! If you are looking for a beautiful, well-maintained home, right on the water, with amazing views, privacy, a private beach, then look no further. Plus the location can't be beat- you are not far from Old Saybrook, Mystic, Providence, Roger Williams Park & Zoo, two casinos, not to mention some great restaurants-like Abbott's in the Rough and Costello's Clam Shack. Just perfect-almost don't want to let anyone else know about it! Make sure to bring your binoculars for views of Long Island, Plum Island, ferries, light houses and the bird sanctuary.

Wonderful in every way
This cottage is a gem. It’s small and cozy with an incredible view of Long Island Sound. Even with the windows closed you can hear the soothing sound of waves day and night. Clean, extremely well stocked, lovely walking neighborhood, gracious owner and neighbors — truly this cottage is one of the best we’ve stayed at.

My family and I celebrated my mom's birthday here. What an amazing house! Very clean and cozy. The views are amazing! The pictures don't even do it justice. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals at the house. We will definitely be back!

Lovely Winter Escape
We had a beautiful time at Driftwood. Having the view and the proximity of the water was the perfect winter getaway. Our daughter loved collecting pebbles and shells. My husband and I loved enjoying tea bundled up on the porch. We were close to New London for dinner and had a lovely day in nearby Mystic. Looking forward to returning when the weather warms up!

Driftwood. From the moment I arrived, I knew this place was special. The cottage is just as pictured. Well appointed and comfortable. It felt like home. It was the perfect escape during these uncertain times. Long walks on the beach collecting sea glass and exquisite sunset views are memories that I will always cherish. Explore the area, there is much to see and do close by or a short drive away. A sublime location and charming cottage made this vacation a dream come true! Before the trip, the owners contacted us to check on us and answer any questions, they also put us in touch with the property manager who is local. I thought this was very considerate. Unfortunately, my family did not end up accessing the property or attending. We had a family emergency/illness. The owners were incredibly understanding and kind. They checked on me, they communicated directly, helped us navigate VRBO and issued a refund (even though they didn't have to). Goes to show you there still are understanding and kind people out there. I hope we can go visit the property in the future, as we were very excited and it looks awesome. Thank you so much Annie. Your kindness is appreciated.

Little piece of heaven
This property is really nicely situated on a cul de sac with few houses and directly on the beach/ocean. It is adjacent to a right of way to the beach but not heavily used other than what seems by the immediate neighbors. We were there over Thanksgiving and it was very peaceful. The house has full sets of everything, right down to a well supplied first aid kit. Wonderful cottage and location.

Amazing Cottage Fulfilled all our needs,
What an amazing place! This place was clean, comfortable and homey! Anything you could need or wish for was already there. It was the most spectacular location of any place We have ever stayed! My 92 year old mother was able to easily access the porch, bathroom, beach etc! I am hoping that someday there will be summer space so that I can bring my daughters and grandchildren! The Harkness park was three minutes away and the botanical gardens there were beautiful and also handicapped accessible! So much to see and do near this cottage and so much peace! Lovely! Please owners let me know if you ever have a summer cancellation!

Quaint cottage steps from the beach....
Driftwood was a great place to finish writing my dissertation proposal while my daughter attended a lovely camp in Thompson, CT. The neighbors are fantastic and helpful. The beach is peaceful and perfect. I enjoyed talking morning walks and watching sunsets. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area. The cottage has lots of amenities--including shopping bags, bug spray, and sunscreen. Thanks for a great stay! Definitely familiarize yourself with the cottage and the area by reading the helpful manual on the counter. I rated every category a 5 star because it was a lovely stay.

At the Water's Edge!
This gem is for everyone who wants to see, smell, and hear the sea "24/7," because the cottage is situated with an unobstructed view and access to Long Island Sound and the beach. The cottage is well equipped for cooking and is also close to fabulous restaurants in nearby towns. Sleeping is comfortable and there is plenty of space for relaxing, watching television, or playing games. We also enjoyed taking a boat tour of the many lighthouses from nearby New London. We look forward to returning!

Second time here!
We love this property. We came once in October, and could not wait to come back. We stayed here towards the end of May, with lots of sunshine and gorgeous long days. The area is so remote, it never feels crowded, it is like your own private beach for the most part. I enjoy that it is a cottage, which is safe for my crawling babies (no stairs! no pool!) and cozy enough to feel like its your own home. The owners keep the property very clean and well organized. Check in is easy and there is a supermarket nearby so as soon as you get your provisions you are all set :) We hope to return many more times.

We stayed for three nights with our family celebrating our son's graduation from the Coast Guard Officer Candidate School in New London. We could not have asked for more ideal setting for this special family occasion. The view is magnificent. The water is just steps from the front deck. The cottage is utterly charming - everything is clean, fresh, and well appointed. We loved having a glass of wine in the evening on the deck, and went right back out in the morning with our coffee. The kitchen has everything you need, including lovely dishes and glassware. This place is great for a family gathering, but would be a wonderful romantic retreat for couples as well. We would be regulars here if we didn't live in California! Don't miss a special stay in this lovely beach cottage! We will definitely be back.

Great property at a beautiful location, friendly and accommodating hosts.
This house is immediately overlooking the beach and in my estimation within a couple dozen feet of the water at high tide. The cottage is small but very comfortable, and certainly large enough for 3 of us to spend the week of 11/25 to 12/2. Whoever did the insulation gets an A+, even though there were a few very windy nights with a lot of crashing waves, I don't recall ever feeling even a hint of a draft. Combined with the fireplace, that makes this a fine all season rental. The only negative, but not enough to bring this down from 5 stars for us... the bathroom fixtures are packed pretty tight and may be difficult to negotiate for someone with long legs. Overall, our week at Driftwood was enjoyable and we would recommend staying there if the opportunity occurs.

We absolutely loved this place and cannot wait to come back. I brought my entire family, including twin babies and a dog, and we felt right at home. The view is priceless and the environment is very tranquil and serene. I am literally going to book it again for the Spring. The owners have made it very easy to feel at home. Bravo!
