Takoma Park Guest Apartment

This is a very nice and comfortable property. If you don’t have a car, it is an easy walk to the downtown area of Takoma Park. The bed is very comfortable and the heating/cooling is excellent. I just have a suggestion or two. A light by the door would be helpful when returning to the apartment at night. Also, in addition to the bath towel and hand towel provided, a washcloth would be appreciated and the soap in the shower should be in a wrapped package. I would definitely stay here again, however, since it is just a few blocks from my daughter’s house.

If you are strictly looking for value this property works. We rated it good because technically nothing is wrong with the property and it is convenient to the redline if you are looking to have good access to DC. Why good overall not great: the surrounding property is shabby and unkempt. In our unit specifically, the kitchen sink was not fastened and loose. The bathroom sink was 90% slow verging clogged. Being a homeowner - this just felt run down and the main property which you have to walk by is lacking TLC. So if you don’t mind appearances as you enter and you are only there to sleep and eat (which we were) it works fine. Go for it. In “hotel speak” it’s a Motel 6 or Super 8.

We spent a day and half without hot water but when contacted the owner responded immediately. The huge demerit goes to only providing cheaper than cheap single ply TP!!! Huge yuck factor!
