The hotel is a good location for attending the DC BBQ Festival. 10 minute walk. Perfect for getting all your freebies, dropping them off, taking a rest, and then going back for more! The hotel staff were helpful. Didn’t get breakfast, but it looked like the standard fare. We mostly ordered delivery during our stay. The neighborhood is quiet to walk around. Not a lot of patches for dogs on the immediate block, but there’s a mini park one block past the Irish Pub that has swings and a patches for animals. This location is also one block from the Capital Arena. So perfect for concerts. There is a host of military service people staying at the hotel. It seems like the whole lobby is swarmed with them at various times of the day (probably shift changes). They are also extremely noisy at night. For the most part the location is cool.

The front desk and door security staff were excellent. Their consistent friendliness and helpfulness reminded me of the service from high end, five star properties. Please compliment the management on hiring good people with great attitudes and keeping them motivated. It really shows in the overall experience. Phillis helped us at check in and she was AMAZING! Very kind, gave us recommendations for a breakfast spot a few streets over. She held our luggage for us because we arrived prior to check in time, and the room wasn't quite ready. I would stay here again just because of how kind she was to us. The free breakfast was also a plus. Beds were comfortable and it was pretty quiet. There was free shampoo, conditioner and body wash in dispensers in the shower. Room came with iron, ironing board, microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. There was also a small desk to work. There is an Irish pub located on the bottom floor of the hotel that had great food also. 10/10. Only complaint was that one of the elevators was broken while we were there and my mom is handicapped. My daughters and I were fine taking the stairs when the elevator was taking a while, but my mom had to wait a bit. I saw a crew there working on it, so it's probably fixed by now.
