Beautifully renovated and furnished apartment, thoughtfully designed for the professional and sophisticated visitor to Washington DC. This spacious ground-floor level apartment is in a historic Washington townhome. It features high 9' ceilings, recessed lighting, exposed brick, good natural light, and a large open sitting room and kitchen, which gives it a spacious light feeling. All new floors, an open full Bosch kitchen with counter seating, and a bath with an exposed brick walk-in shower round out the thoughtful details in making this a comfortable and desirable retreat. The bedroom has a queen bed and, a large closet, and the living room has a comfortable queen sleeper sofa. The full bath is off the hallway and also has a direct door to the bedroom. This lovely apartment is on Gallery Row (R Street between Connecticut and 21st Street), a stone's throw from The Phillips Collection, a fabulous private art museum. and home to interesting restaurants, cafes, bistros, shops, galleries, museums jazz clubs, and parks. A local Market is close by, there are ample cuisine choices on the block and very nearby. A unique grocery store is just 4 blocks away on 14th St. You are in an ideal location for transit, 1.5 blocks away from the DuPont Metro Station (Red Line) at 20th and Q St. Leave your car at home, having a car in DC is more a liability than a convenience! If you are driving to DC and need parking, we do have one parking space (nightly fee) behind the home, check with us on availability. We can also order you a street parking permit. Reviewer Comments: This was an unexpected surprise. We usually stay in hotels but we decided to venture outside of that for once. The unit is well equipped with a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The location is also amazing, just a block from Dupont Circle and Embassy Row. We used the Metro to go everywhere in the city, both bus and train. And don't forget to hop on the bus and go over to nearby Georgetown. Both my husband and I were comfortable there and rather look forward to coming home at night. We love coffee. If you’re bringing coffee, be sure to have it course ground for the French press, although ours was finely ground and it worked out OK. The neighborhood has Restaurants and it seems to be safe. We have a fairly expensive new car and we parked it behind the building and felt comfortable with that. It’s easy to get to the metro, and I think you should go for it ##### Mary Ann W. Strolled by the Phillip’s Collection daily to the DuPont Circle Metro for our chosen adventures. Walkable to Georgetown and Dumbarton Oaks. Nice selection of local restaurants and services.The Apt itself, while being lower level and virtually windowless was perfectly comfy. Reviewer Comments: Pros & ConsCons –A few things didn’t work but they were not significant.It’s not as close to the Mall as I thought, and there is not a lot of shopping nearby, but it is very convenient to the Metro.I personally would have preferred a larger, softer bed and pillows, as well as a TV in the bedroom, but the closet space was very ample.Pros – The owner operator of the property management company is charming – very responsive, communicative, caring, She offered us many great suggestions about dining, getting around, etc. I cannot say enough great things about her.The building owner lives very close by and was also very friendly, responsive and helpful.
