"This is a wonderful gem! I booked this late and didn't have many choices, but when I go to Kauai again, I won't want to stay anywhere else. This hotel is not fancy, but it's lovely, modern, and clean with all you need - responsive and friendly staff, pool, access to beach, lawn games, fire pits, a great restaurant and bar, and nightly live music. Close enough to walk to some shopping. The vibe at this hotel couldn't be better - I was with a friend, but it's terrific for families. The only small drawback is that the surf on the adjacent beach is very rough and very rocky, so if you're planning to spend a lot of time in the ocean, this is a consideration, especially for kids. Other than that, Kauai Shores Hotel is perfection in my mind. "
