(1,357 reviews) The room was decent, albeit dated, with no major issues, other than some street noise on some nights. It is quite expensive for what you get, although I won't hold this against the property too much, as expensive accomodation is obviously the norm in Hawaii. In the grand scheme of things, this is cheap compared to most other properties in Hawaii. Most of the staff were very nice and hospitable, with one exception. One of the male cleaners was quite rude when I was trying to figure out the laundry situation. Essentially, the property only has two washing machines available for guests, to service the entire building. These are hidden away at the back of the property in the staff area. As these washing machines were in use when I went to go use them, the cleaner rudely told me to go away and come back when the cycles were complete. As there is nowhere nearby to wait for the machines to become free, when I came back, someone else had put their laundry in the machine. Once again, the cleaner rudely told me to come back. This system could definitely do with improving, and this cleaner could learn a thing or two about customer service. Overall though, my stay was good, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for budget accomodation in Hawaii. Just be prepared to accept that it won't be the best experience you've ever had, but it will give you a good base to explore Hawaii, especially being based in the central location of Waikiki. (3,280 reviews) Great staff! Clean room, but it is dated. Water temp in shower was weird: super hot and then cooled down after a minute. While it doesn’t feel as updated as the Reef in the Beach, this Outrigger property has much more sandy beach and is located closer to Kapiolani Park. Best hotel amenity: insulated bottles to refill with drinking water in lobby and other places around the hotel. From Kamehameha Highway, turn right just before the Foodland and fire station and go up the winding road for about two minutes before you reach the sign on your right hand side.
