Kolea, located just 30 minutes north of Kona-Kailua at Waikoloa Beach Resort between the Hilton Waikoloa Hotel and the Marriott Waikoloa Beach Hotel, is the most luxurious condo community on the Big Island -- and the only development with direct beach access.

The condo is just a two minute walk to Anaeho'omalu Bay, where water sports await you: snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, kite boarding, glass bottom boat tours, sunset cruises, and of course swimming! A-Bay is a great beach for family fun, with warm sand and gentle waves in a sheltered location that has its own volley ball court and work out equipment for the energetic. For those seeking relaxation, watch a sea turtle take a nap in the sand as the sun sets.

The infinity pool, children's pool with sandy beach and waterfall, and lava hot tub tub are all you need to relax. Walk to Queens Shops for pizza and ice cream or to Kings shops for a latte!

More adventurous? Want to ride the waves? Take a short 10 minute drive up the road to Hapuna Beach State Park and enjoy the best beach on the island. Boogie boards, beach chairs and coolers are provided! All you need is sun screen!

Got a little more time? Take the gang on a drive around the island! Or experience the true diversity of this place -- which in one day may take you to as many distinct climates as you'd experience in a dozen countries! Drive 'upcountry' 30 minutes to Waimea and go horseback riding at Parker Ranch -- 230,000 acres of amazing open space! Then cut over Highway 250 on the north end for Hawi's laid back old Hawaii small town feel and meander through artist studios in search of home-made ice cream, Kona coffee, and shaved ice. Another day, head east to see Hilo's awesome Akaka Falls, rainforest, and botanical gardens! Go stargazing on Mauna Kea -- nearly 14,000 feet above sea level (and the tallest mountain in the world, if you measure from the ocean floor!)

Have an extra day or two? You can not miss the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park! If you can swing it, stay a night down at the Volcano House Lodge overlooking the crater! The place is so awesome that you really cannot cover it in a day if you want to go for hikes in the park. Stop at one of the black sand beaches on the way home. There is even a hidden green sand beach if you are really adventurous!

Our villa is just a five minute walk to fine dining (Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Steak, Seafood, Pizza, Noodles, etc.) and a gourmet market that makes great lunches for day trips. The King's Shops and the Queen's Shops each have free entertainment and family activities, such as ukulele contests and hula lesson.

Vacation with my Mom

We had a great rip in Robert’s condo.,I have always wanted to stay in Kolka Kai with its beautiful amenities including beach access to A Bay and close proximity to dining and shopping. Robert’s condo is well appointed and the communication was great.

Great vacation!

We had a wonderful time staying at the condo in Kolea. The condo itself was clean and just as described in the listing. Everything went fine during our stay, but if it hadn't, communication with the property manager was very easy. The kids loved the pool area and the beach. Definitely would consider returning on a future vacation!

Best Hawaii stay

The apartment is better than what you expect, the complex/resort is stunning, surrounding areas are simply beautiful, having so close markets, shops, restaurants, and all you need! also, the apartment has everything for the beach, and beyond. Robert the owner responded very quickly, gave us great suggestions of what to do, and was very easy to communicate with, we will definitely stay there again.

Nice family stay

Condo is roomy and nice, but the grounds and the beach club are really beautiful and well kept. The pool area is large and very inviting. The pool wasn't too busy and overlooks the bay and the ocean. It is a short walk from there to the beach. The condo is within walking distance to a grocery store, shops and restaurants.

Great location, excellent value

We had a blast here. The condo has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. We've stayed at other condos in the Waikoloa Beach Resort but this was our first time at Kolea and it did not disappoint. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful Kolea Kai

The resort of Kolea Kai is beautiful. We especially love the infinity pool with a view of the ocean and a path leading to ABay. Our condo was well equipped and comfortable. The only suggestion we would have for improvement is mattress updates. The appliances are top notch. The grill is very nice. It was nice to have a closet full of outdoor equipment including beach chairs.

Great place to stay in Hawaii

Just got married and we were looking for a great place to stay in Hawaii - and boy did we find it. This rental had all the gear we needed to enjoy the beach and all of the great things you need to have in the condo to make the experience amazing. The space was large, great appliances and an outside grill area that was fantastic. I will not hesitate in renting this place again.

Beautiful condo in a great location

This was our first trip to the big island and this turned out to be a fantastic place to spend the week. The condo was very upscale and had everything anyone could possibly need. The kitchen was very well equipped and the unit had tons of beach chairs, snorkels and boogie boards. It was within walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants in Waikoloa as well as a really nice beach. We will surely rent this unit again in the future.

Beautiful Sanctuary in Paradise!

The unit was amazing! Clean, spacious and well-appointed. Robert is an outstanding host; directions/instructions were perfect. Unit was very quiet, which was perfect after a busy day and luau at the next-door Marriott. You will want for nothing at this condo! Beach/Pool items, grill on private lanai and decor all made our stay relaxing. Will definitely be back for a longer stay!

Great location; very clean

This condo is very spacious and clean. It has a lot of amenities including boogie boards, coolers, towels to take to the beach and ice packs... little things that make the stay easier. Both the pool and the beach are a short walk away. The area is secured by a coded gate entry and very well lit. I always felt very safe here.

Kolea property is the best!

Everything was great. Only thing that was disappointing was that the ice maker was broken and the location of this condo was tucked in the back of the property so there wasn’t light and anything to look at. Beds were comfortable and the owner was very responsive. Love Kolea because of the grounds, pool, beach, and walking distance to shops etc!

Amazing Location and Beautiful Apartment

Just returned home from an excellent vacation. The Apartment had everything; amazing kitchen, outside grill and everything for our young son (pack and play, beach toys and convertible high-chair). The pool is 2 mins walk away and the beach a further 3-4mins. Easily walkable to the Kings & Queens shops and we spent some evenings next door at the Marriott Bar. If you are looking for a quiet and luxurious place to stay in Kona, you'd be hard pressed to find anything better. We can not wait to return next year!

Beautiful, peaceful, and best location in Waikoloa

We stayed here for a week on our 5th trip to the Big Island. This was the best place we have stayed in by far. The condo is beautifully kept and equipped. The location is the best in Waikoloa, being walking distance to the shopping areas, next door to the Marriott and the beach is steps away right outside the pool area. The pool area itself is extremely nice and well-maintained, truly top notch. It is rare that I can recommend a place 100% but this is it. Thank you Robert, we will be back! Fiona and Russell.

Everything you need!

Our family had a wonderful family vacation in this condo. It was well stocked with plenty of space for a family of 4. We appreciated all the extra beach equipment for our kiddos. The owner was very responsive and accommodating. The complex is well made and were heard very little noise on the bottom floor. We would say we wish there was a bigger more private lanai. From the pictures we thought there was more grass space for our kids to play and didn’t realize the parking lot for the other building was so close. We would definitely come back!
