Perfect for weddings and events. There are separate rooms which aren't connected to the hotel and are in a courtyard to give a bit more extra privacy. Food was delicious and good value for money overall

Great hotel.
We had a room in the courtyard block. Room was a good size. Comfy bed, nice toiletries. Restaurant staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good with various options. Short walk into Truro centre. Would definitely recommend.

Everything about this hotel, and our stay there was excellent. It’s just a ten minute walk into Truro, so it is conveniently located, and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else, even the price is competitive to other hotels in the area!

The most perfect hotel you could wish for. I’ve been enjoying stays at The Alverton . The room was clean, warm and well stocked with towels etc. The staff always very friendly and beyond to make your stay perfect . There are no negatives to consider when choosing to stay at The Alverton.

We planned a weekend away so booked two rooms for the night B&B. Lovely hotel and very comfortable room. Nice to be able to have a bath. Breakfast unfortunately let them down a bit. We ordered our food. The cereal, toast etc arrived. Having eaten that we expected our cooked breakfast to appear. After waiting a while we asking were it was and it came 30 minutes after we had finished our cereal.

Clean small stuffy dark room
Whilst clean, modern and close to town there were a lot of areas needing attention to be considered a 4 star . The rooms were very small in the courtyard and dark. Bathroom no natural light and finished in dark colours so difficult to shave in. The table in bedroom only had a small 6 inch by 12 inch mirror to apply make up etc. there was no drawer space in either table or bedside units and the enormous wardrobe was filled with a fridge, iron and ironing board which could only we positioned across the doorway and between bedroom and bathroom. The breakfast was good although strange layout of menu. Staff were everywhere but no idea what to do. Lack of management . The public areas for guests were taken up by weddings etc so no quiet area to sit and read paper with a drink or coffee . The afternoon tea was fine but as we had not booked the manager had to ask if the chef could oblige. Finally we ordered a paper but it was not delivered as the reception did not make a note of the room number. All in all it was ok but not great by any stretch. We were swayed to stay there because of the rave reviews. Shall not use again.

Dear Lesley, Thank you for your detailed review but naturally I am disappointed that you didn't like your classic courtyard room. The classic rooms are the smaller room type and they contain all the amenities. We hoped that by designing the room with the tea trays and fridges hidden away, this would create a more inviting space in the bedroom and still leave our guests with plenty of room in the wardrobe. I'm pleased it was clean but I'm sorry you didn't like it. It's great to hear breakfast and the afternoon tea were both good and I will pass your feedback onto the restaurant manager. I know as we were busy on Saturday the staff member would have wanted to check if the chefs could accommodate your order so they didn't oblige and then have to let you down. The wedding party do have their own bar, so I hope the noise quietened down later in the evening and the Courtyard also has a private lounge so you are always welcome to relax with drinks there. I'm sorry you didn't receive your newspaper and this added further disappointment to your stay.
