It’s so lush and beautiful! It’s well equipped with more than just the necessities. The beautiful spa bath is a surprising contrast to the rustic style of the rest of the cottage. There were several welcoming touches, including beautiful tropical flowers. The cottage is small, and though it would probably be fine for one person or a couple who travels light, we found it a bit small for two older people. We had to put our big suitcases back in the car, taking out the things we needed first. Also, the bed is against the wall, and the person on the inside couldn’t get out of bed without disturbing the other person. On the whole, the location and thoughtful touches make this a nice property, but it may be better suited to a single guest or a couple who travels with small bags and that doesn’t have to get up multiple times in the night. ##### Wanda G. This property had the best location as it was about 1 mile from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The cottage was located mid way back and on the side of the property. Ira was in his workshop when we arrived and greeted us personally. We could walk the entire property including the small nature garden in the back which was truly a special place. He was there in his studio when we arrived and was happy to show us to the cozy cottage. We had everything that we needed and enjoyed our own hot tub for a soak after a long day of travel. The location is perfect for a stay in Volcano, minutes from VNP and many restaurants nearby. We missed out on Cafe Ono, that is located on the property, as they were closed the days we were there.
