9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (3 reviews)
"I traveled there by my own car. Street parking was available, and the location was easy to find. The address and location itself were good. However, check-in is only available until 4:00 PM; if you arrive late, you are out of luck. They do not accept check-ins after that. For someone traveling for business, having to go to the hotel within these hours can cause disruptions to other work. The bed was very old; in fact, one side was sagging, so I couldn't trust it. I could only sleep on the very...

"Although the receptionist didn’t speak any English, between google translate and point and smiling, we were checked in early and shown around the hotel. The breakfast was good. Our room had an awkward shower/tub set up with no shower curtain, but we made the best of it. I think this is a very popular hotel as the weather warms up because there’s a popular road cycling trail and Straznice is central on that map. We were only here two nights, but there’s a couple real good bakeries across the...

"1 night stay for my parents as a gift to my father’s 90th birthday. Stay was during the hot wave in Europe, 40degrees during the day, still very hot at night and they accommodated them in a room room without A/C (although when my Mom asked, they told her some rooms have A/C). Paying equivalent of 300 USD per night on a regular weekday, one would expect room with A/C. Besides that, road works started just under their window at 6am. The spa treatments were apparently great, but the accommodation...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Vlčnov?
The best area to stay in Vlčnov is directly within the village itself, particularly near the historic core where the traditional "Vlčnov Houses" are located.

This area is the heart of Vlčnov, known for its unique folk architecture and the annual Ride of the Kings procession. The main street, which winds through the village, is where you'll find the most characterful guesthouses and local eateries. It's a compact and pleasant area to explore on foot, offering a real sense of local life.

Families will find staying within the village a great option. Many guesthouses offer larger rooms or apartments, and the quiet streets provide a relaxed environment. Children can enjoy the open spaces and the novelty of being in a traditional Czech village, with the Vlčnov Museum of Folk Architecture providing an engaging educational experience.

Couples looking for a unique and authentic cultural experience will also appreciate staying here. The charm of the traditional houses, the local wine cellars, and the chance to witness village traditions make for a memorable trip.
When is the best time to go to Vlčnov?
The best time to go to Vlčnov is during the warmer months, specifically from May to September.

This period offers pleasant weather, with temperatures typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the village and its surroundings. The days are longer, allowing for more time to enjoy outdoor activities and local events.

For those interested in traditional Moravian culture, visiting in late May or early June is great for experiencing the "Ride of the Kings," Vlčnov's most famous annual festival. This UNESCO-recognised tradition features a colourful procession through the village, showcasing traditional costumes, music, and local customs. It's a truly unique cultural experience that draws visitors from all over.

Summer months, particularly July and August, are also excellent for enjoying the local vineyards and cycling routes. The gentle rolling hills of the Slovácko region are beautiful in full bloom, and many local cellars offer wine tastings.
