When the present courthouse replaced this one, 3 Catholic Sisters of Charity from Leavenworth, Kansas came and opened St. Mary's Hospital for miners. The hospital briefly prospered till the placer gold was exhausted in. In nineteen forty Mr. Bovey remodeled the interior as a hotel but little has changed on the exterior from the eighteen seventies. The space The Inn is located one block from the historic district. Everything is in walking distance! Guest access You have your private room. Fabulous ghosts stories were told in the front road area.Had a beautiful evening lightning storm. The individual on site didn't know much about maintenance. Our door lock didn't latch at all and that was totally understandable for such an old building. Thank goodness I travel with a human that worked on doors for over 25 years. He got it to work for our time there. The room was clean except the window sills were loaded with dead bugs.
