Clean but dusty as something immediately triggered my asthma. Food was a good variety but they have 3 monitors supervising, watching you take and eat your food was weird. Bathrooms new and clean. Parking limited had to park at one end and walk 2-3 minutes to get to room.

The rooms were clean and large, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Request to NOT stay in room 200 because you will be kept up all night by the automatic door directly underneath. But overall fine experience, bit off the main drag from Vik which was nice. A little pricey but we came in peak season.

Excellent buffet with so many tasty appetizers. Good breakfast as well. Beautifully decorated hotel, nice rooms but the world’s smallest bathroom. Sink was literally in the shower. Would stay there again

For the prices I paid to stay here in Iceland everything felt extremely cheap ($400/ night for 2 twin beds) I will say the beds were comfortable and the food was good but I think those are my only 2 pros about the place. Now for the cons; We were unable to close the bathroom door and when we did the door handle came off. We attempted to use a light behind the bed and when attempting to move what was supposed to be a swivel light the light did not move almost like it had been super glued. And upon looking more it looked broken. The bathroom is very small and flooded when we showered so we had to get extra towels ( European design style but still very small). Paint nicks and chips from wood all over the walls, there was even a mystery fluid stain on the wall behind the garbage. Walls were extremely thin, we could hear everyone’s blow dryer and conversation very clearly in the hallways and likewise while in the room just between the rooms next to us. Would not stay here again.

Hot tub was very nice, and breakfast was excellent. The bathroom shower wasn’t contained so water got everywhere in the bathroom. We couldn’t adjust the too-warm temperature in the room.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Katla. The rooms were nice and clean, the property was in a beautiful location, and it served as a perfect base for touring southern Iceland. The breakfast was included and offered different options that were all delicious. The staff were friendly as well. The hot tub was nice, however it did get a little crowded at times. Overall, I would recommend Hotel Katla and would stay there again.

This hotel was very conveniently located, just a few minutes drive from the supermarket, restaurants, etc. Also, the rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast is pretty good and the restaurant -for dinner- was great too. We also had to stay an extra night -and stay in a full day- because of a snow storm and we felt secure.

Great property located just outside of town. The breakfast was amazing! The only draw back was that there was a large high school group on a trip that took over the hot tub and sauna during both nights of our stay making it a less than desirable way to spend our anniversary; yet not the fault of the hotel or staff. Overall we wilould absolutely stay here again.
