Wonderful, close to everything.

Posted 25-May-2016
Pros: It's closeness to everything
Cons: Finish the modifications soon.
Location: Everything is nearby.
Lovely spot and the service was terrific. The front desk people were amazing with knowledge. The unit was noisy but we were warned about it and there was no noise before eight and none after four so we survived!

Downtown/Waterfront Harbor hotel

Posted 19-May-2016
Pros: Location was great, close to downtown and waterfront attractions.
Cons: The noise/sound traveled easily through the exterior windows, however the hotel was replacing/upgrading windows at this time.
Location: Waterfront/marine activities within a short walk. Historical attractions within a short walk or drive.
Overall excellent. Very clean and well maintained. Staff were very courteous and pleasant. Good basic breakfast in cafe setting overlooking harbor. Hotel was undergoing window upgrades at time which did not impact our stay. I would stay here again, given its amenities within and nearby.

Hotel in Downtown Victoria Harbour

Posted 04-May-2016
Pros: Centrally located to Parliament Buildings, Empress Hotel, Royal BC Museum and great shops
Cons: No
Location: As above
We stayed in a king room city view for one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was spacious and had a large separate balcony. The underground parking was easy to access and secure

Nice hotel in the center of Victoria BC

Posted 03-May-2016
Pros: This hotel is located on the Victoria Inner Harbor waterfront in the center of town. It is close to restaurants, sights, etc.
Cons: Hotel is older but it is very well maintained.
Location: This hotel is within easy walking distance of all the downtown Victoria attractions.
We had a great time, as usual, in Victoria celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary in the city where we spent part of our honeymoon. We visit Victoria routinely and as such have a list of activities and restaurants we enjoy. This hotel is located on the waterfront within a short walk of many restaurants, sights, etc. If you want to rest, you can sit on your patio watching all of the activity of the waterfront with float planes, ferries, crew teams, water ferries, etc. We like to walk and the flora, such as in Beacon Park or the harbor walkway, could not have been more beautiful.

Worst Customer Service Experience Ever!

Posted 21-Apr-2016
We have never received such poor customer service from anywhere - let alone a hotel! I am still waiting for management to get back to me (as was promised!) in regards to our complaint over notifying the hotel about an airport shuttle and not being told there was a charge of $25/per person. We were told that the Manager Sheila said we were at fault for not asking about the charge because Expedia's site states: Shuttle (*Surcharge). Obviously I did not notice this BUT had emailed the hotel directly to confirm they offered a shuttle and was told yes. The fact there was a charge was not provided to us. When we asked to speak directly to the manager, we were told that managers only work until 5pm and she was gone for the evening. It was only 5:05 and we had been at the front desk only ten minutes prior before being asked to give the gentleman working the desk some time to speak to his manager. It was very shady. We didn't even receive an apology for the "misunderstanding." It wasn't a misunderstanding, the person who responded to my email screwed up and we should be compensated for the error not blamed and told it's our fault (which we were told!!).Who blames the customer especially when they are at fault?

Wonderful and helpful hotel staff

Posted 20-Apr-2016
I was delighted by the kind front desk staff. They allowed us to check in a little early to accommodate our sleeping child, they made a dinner reservation for us, held our bags after check out and perfectly timed our daily room cleanings. I would definitely stay again. We were on the city facing side of the building and the raucous partiers in the streets were pretty audible on the weekend evenings but that just means we will splurge on a water-facing room next time. Great location. Great people. Comfy room. Thanks good people of the Victoria Regent! (We heard some angry people yelling at the front desk staff for the patron's misunderstanding of Expedia which inspired me to write this review. The hotel staff people at the desk were kind and professional even in the face of people making ridiculous claims that showed they didn't understand how to book hotels online. Sorry that happened to you Regent people, you are great!)

Disappointing view, very old building but clean

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Pros: The friendly staff and good breakfast and the size of the room.
Cons: Air conditioning needs to be installed and the whole building needs to be updated. There needs to be a better and easier way to get into the parking
Location: There were a few shops to wander into, China town was fairly close and we could see part of the harbor.
We thought we were paying for a harbor view suite, turns out we only got a partial view to our right, looking straight ahead we were looking at a parking lot and to the left the back of some very old and grubby looking buildings. Trying to figure out where the parking lot was when we arrived was a nightmare. The hotel itself was very old and also disappointing, however it was a great size and was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful so there were good and bad things about this hotel.
