Welcome to our large suite in a heritage manor, perfectly located in the heart of Fairfield, one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in Victoria. This fantastic convenient location is within walking distance to all levels of amenities, including restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, tourist attractions, Cook Street Village, Beacon Hill Park, Downtown, Dallas Road waterfront, and public transit. Whether it's for short or long stays, this fully furnished suite offers the comfort of a home away from home. SPACE: The Grand Larkspur Suite is the largest suite at Larkspur Manor, offering generous space and comfort for families or groups. This two-bedroom suite includes two queen beds, a spacious living area with a queen sectional sofa bed, a full kitchen, and a private bathroom. With room to gather and relax, it’s ideal for longer stays or group travel. This newly renovated 2 bedroom suite is located on the basement level of our building. It offers you lots of privacy with a private entrance and no other units on the same floor. Multiple large windows allows amble amount of natural light in to brighten the suite. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything that will surely inspire the inner chef in you. The bedrooms are furnished with medium-firm pillow-top queen-size bed with hotel quality linens. This suite can accommodate up to 6 guests. We are open to accept one well house trained dog. Please check with host for permission. Pet fees applies. Must agree to pet rules. Streets are lined with tree that leads to the Salish Sea, the famous Dallas Road waterfront, Clover Point Park, and beaches including picturesque Gonzales Bay, and dramatic views of the Olympic Mountains. Within minutes walk from us is Cook Street Village, a lively strip featuring laid-back eateries, cafés, sidewalk patios, grocery stores, and small local shops. The vibrant and popular Moss Street Market, a weekly summer outdoor market, is only a few blocks away. Many of the attractions are within walking distance from us, such as the Craigdarroch Castle, the Government House, Beacon Hill Park, and the Inner Harbour. For anyone who appreciates Victorian, Edwardian, and Craftsman homes, or who wants a change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Downtown, look no further than our friendly historical neighbourhood. We are about: 5 min walk to Cook Street Village 10 min walk to Beacon Hill Park 15 min walk to Downtown Victoria, Inner Harbour, Dallas Road waterfront, Government House, Craigdarroch Castle, and many other attractions 20 min walk to the Black Ball (US) Ferry Terminal 20 min direct bus to UVic and Camosun College 7 min by car or 15 min by direct bus to Royal Jubilee hospital 30-40 min by car or 1 hour by bus from Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal 30-40 min by car or 1 hr by bus from Victoria International Airport HISTORY: This large three-level Craftsman, chalet style, heritage manor was designed by the famous Canadian architect, Samuel Maclure, in 1912 for a prominent local businessman who was well-known for his interest in the prohibition movement and church, and was president of the YMCA. Two decades ago, the building was converted into seven self-contained suites. The suites all unique from each other ranging from studios, one and two bedroom suites. They all have their own kitchen and bathroom. The manor was known as Trutch Manor Suites, had for many years been Victoria's popular bed and breakfast. The manor is now renamed “Larkspur Manor Suites” to pay homage to our City of Gardens - Victoria. Larkspurs are are old-fashion flowers that come in a variety of shades, with beautiful meanings, most commonly used to symbolize love, affection, strong attachment, happiness, and pure heart. We believe Larkspur beautifully represents our manor in welcoming people from all shades to have a wonderful, happy stay, whether they are here for a special occasion, holiday making, or to reconnect with friends, families, and love ones. As the new owner with years of hospitality experience hosting travelers, business professionals, and international students from all over the world, and as a super host, and premiere host, I am excited and pleased to continue offering this wonderful manor as your home away from home while you are visiting or working in Victoria. THINGS TO NOTE: There is a set of stairs leading to the suite and it is not wheelchair accessible. As such, it will be challenging for those with mobility difficulties. Laundry is at the building in our basement and is coin-operated. You will need 2 loonies (2 $1 coins) each to wash and to dry. Laundry is between 9 am - 8 pm. If you are bring your furry pet, please obtain permission from host first. Pet fee applies. Must agree to pet rules. Our 5 year-old dog, Cosmo, a medium-sized Labradoodle, stays with me at the property sometimes. You may see him play outside in the courtyard. If you are nervous around dogs, please let me know and I will limit his presence outside. We have motion sensor security cameras on the outside of our building which stay on during 24/7\. One at the main entrance, one on the side of the building above the gate, one near the fire escape at the back of the building near Unit 7, and one on the garage facing our parking lot. It is as if time is suspended as you wander the neighborhoods and numerous gardens that Victoria and the vicinity has to offer. We have friends that live in this beautiful city and visit quite frequently, so the suite location was perfect for parking the car and walking to our various destinations-restaurants, museums, strolling the bay, Government street, Craigdarroch Castle, Government House--we walked it all! The suite was lovely--plenty of room and very thoughtfully designed. Nice dining area and desk area for the computer and the kitchen was nicely stocked with plenty of counter space. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was wonderfully large! Thank you. The lighting was wonderful as well. In my experience, lighting can be quite lacking in some units. The building is beautifully situated on a quiet street but is still close to downtown Victoria. The unit is light, spacious, and well decorated. The kitchen appliances and utensils are high quality. The beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked. Communication with the host is excellent and check in a breeze. The off street parking is a dream, and only steps from the outdoor space and access to this unit. We enjoyed our stay! So close to downtown, within walking distance of groceries. We were a little concerned about having our family of four stay in a studio style flat, but it was infinitely more comfortable than a hotel at a fraction of the price. The “master” portion of the flat can be separated from the living area by a curtain, which made for clever and efficient sleeping arrangements.
