Very nice hotel with a fantastic pool area, but bar and restaurant are somewhat pricy. The hotel only has 6 rooms, with at double bed, the remaining rooms have single bed put together. Not very couple friendly.

Would prefer if there was an aircondition and a mini fridge but it was superb,the pool the location the views plenty of selection for breakfast,tea facilities in room and very Scandinavian look decor which I really love

Bra personal, fina lokaler med fantastisk pool och restauranger. Rummet var fint, men fick inte det rum jag beställt. Jag hade beställt ett rum med två dubbelsängar, fick en dubbelsäng och en bäddsoffa som man knappt kunde sova i för den var för hård, har problem med ryggen och därför var jag noga att beställa sängar och inte bäddsoffa, men fick tyvärr bäddsoffa ändå. Över lag bra! Fin natur.

Liked the stay. Thought desk staff could be more informed of property amenities, asked if there was a hot tub on the premises and was told she "wasn't sure". Then there was no robe nor slippers in the room and when I inquired I was told I could "rent" a robe for 100 DK. The walls are quite thin, but there were earplugs in the room, so they are obviously aware of it. The brunch was very good, Danish smorgasbord, variety of baked goods, several coffee and juice choices, bacon and eggs, boiled eggs, pancakes made to order, etc. and etc. No complaints here (less salt in the eggs though please). The hot tubs could use a good water maintenance, we have a hot tub at home and I would not use it when water is cloudy. Other than that, value for the money, location is very nice. Casino slots are very tight, and their food menu consists of a choice of 3 overpriced dishes (fish, a burger or seafood plate). We left the casino and ate in town. Flammen Buffet is great. Overall, I feel the hotel could use an uplift but for the price I'd give it overall a 3-star.

Trip to Denmark
We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our stay at Munkebjerg Hotel. The room was tidy and clean, although we would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The restaurant and room service was fabulous, a bit pricey, but well worth it. We never went into the casino next door, but we did go down to the lovely indoor swimming pool, and we even relaxed in the jacuzzi and steam room for a while. Overall, we loved our stay here and would fully recommend it to everyone.

Value for money?
Value for money not realistic. Room lacked on cleaning and lacking maintenance on furniture. Spring mattress uncomfortable. Swimming pool limited hours for kids under 17years (perhaps above 12years already behave good enough). Great location and breakfast.

Not worth your money
Hotel Munkebjerg is well situated, but dated. Rooms are quite basic bordering on the spartan and bathrooms which were probably nice 20-30 years ago needs to be refurbished. Why not purchase proper shower heads in a spa hotel? Breakfast is plentiful, but utterly boring. Have a healthy section and do away with all the sugar and cakes. Bin the powder-based scramled egg and go for quality rather than quantity. Nice staff at the front desk, but otherwise a disappointment.

It is an ok hotel. But for families maybe not so good. The hotel has just too many meetings and conferences, the last day they even started to move around the furnitures when you were eating breakfast. The pool was ok, but again, not available for children under 17 between 10 and 18 hour. The staff in the restaurant are overworked and not very serviceminded. With that prices I would have expected more.

Lovely, but a server is in need of "beauty" school
I really loved this property -- it is spacious and inviting. My ratings were influenced by one person who was quite rude to me. I am a recent widow and was traveling to complete a project my husband and I started. Dining alone is something I am learning about. I had a rude, abrupt server who took my order (eventually) and then never returned. I had to ask another server to bring my bill, although my assigned server hurried by my table multiple times without looking at me. I was so upset by this rudeness and expressed by dissatisfaction (in tears) to the front desk clerk, who apologized profusely. The manager of the bar and restaurant brought a rose and a glass of wine to my room with apologies as well. They were quite kind, but what really bothers me is that a person without people skills can be employed by a lovely hotel/restaurant. My ratings would be the absolute best if I hadn't encountered this woman.

nice but noisy and not corona safe
Overall the hotel is great and our stay was quite pleasant. Especially enjoyed the pool and massage! From negative side: the absence of refregirator in the room added complications, but the stuff on registration nicely offered a place in their refregirator. Would be more convenient to have it in the room.. Last night from Fri to Sat was very hot, and air conditioning was poor. We opened the windows, but they faced entrance, and the street was very noisy with a lot of people drinking and laughing until 3-4 am, and in the morning already at am other people started to check out and noise came again. So, it would be better if they host families with kids (like ours) in the room which do not face the entrance. Breakfast was delicious, but a lot of people come together. Better organization may be in shifts would be appreciated. Otherwise all was clean and personnel very nice.

Excellent and consistent - updated and modern
Stayed with me son (15 years old) at one of your three top rooms. Enjoyed a birthday dinner with extended family in your main restaurant. All excellent and recommendable. I do not, however, appreciate the discrimination against my sons age, not allowing him the same hours in the pool as "adults". If accompanied by a parent, the young man should be allowed, alternatively parents can be banned along with children not behaving.

Allthough your son is behaving more like an adult than a child, many children and young teenagers tend to be a bit loud and playful in the pool. It is a fantastic hotel. Great location for walking in the woods next to the hotel towards the sea. quiet and safe area. great view when having breakfast. Staff is relaxed and friendly. Everywhere is clean - in and out. I totally recommend this hotel and I would go again for sure.
