Charming Vashon Island Cottage - Just 3 minutes from the ferry.

Enjoy peace and quiet at the Cottage at Useful Bear Farm. Vashon Island has lots to offer year-round: beaches, hiking, biking and bird-watching. Conveniently located near the north-end ferry and close to town where there are wonderful shops and restaurants. The cottage has full kitchen, bathroom and living/dining room on the first floor. Upstairs is a large sleeping loft with queen bed separated by a divider and a trundle bed and sleeper sofa. A portion of the proceeds from the cottage go to local housing programs.

Lovely location

Lovely little cottage with great kitchen and bath. Perfect location on the island, peaceful setting. A great place to unwind.

Lovely cottage

We had a very nice stay here. Loved the fresh eggs and flowers upon arrival. The sitting room upstairs with sky lights was great in the afternoon. Slept well under the layers of quilts provided. Highly recommend this cottage.

Nice and peaceful escape from the city. We appreciated that there were fresh eggs (!) for us and not a long list of cleaning to do at checkout (no list at all!) we enjoyed this cute quiet spot immensely.

Excellent Stay

Everything about the stay was excellent. It's a great little place if you want some time on the island. Very clean, close to town and the north end ferry, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Absolutely recommend it.

Great stay!

Our hosts were very welcoming and the cottage was charming. The kid enjoyed checking out the small farm on the property (hello chickens!) and picking wild blackberries.

Very nice property well-located. Only downsides were 1) bedroom / loft on 2nd floor with an awkwardly steep and narrow stairway; 2) poorly located electrical outlets in bedroom area made it a challenge to charge devices; 3) bathroom on first floor made it difficult for folks who needed to use the facilities during the night.

Accommodating Yellow Cottage

Located not far from the Seattle Ferry. Owner is very kind and welcoming. Has all the comforts of home including French press, baking pans and other stove top pans, oven with broiler, Keurig and hot water kettle, Bose system, plenty of blankets, and what I loved was a full bath tub (and shower). Stay here for quiet place near the sea!

Beautiful setting

This charming cottage was perfectly appointed and so comfortable. Convenient to the ferry and the downtown restaurants and shops. Deborah greeted us on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. We hope to visit again!

Very pleasant stay

We really enjoyed our stay on this lovely property. The hosts were very wecoming and helpful. There is a sweet little backyard and the house is very clean and comfortable. Definitely a gem!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

Amazing Property!

So clean and well stocked. Beautiful little cabin. We were a bit worried of the bedrooms being upstairs because of the heat, but not to worry, Debra thought of that too. Fans and and AC unit were running when we arrived. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great cottage on Vashon

We only stayed over night but this was a terrific spot near the north end ferry terminal. When we arrived we were greeted by the owners and they were very friendly. They gave us the run down of the property and gave some recommendations for places to eat. We will be sure to visit again!

Vashon getaway

We had a great time staying at this property. The cottage was just as cute as pictured and our kids enjoyed meeting the chickens in the yard. Debra was very hospitable- checking in each day to make sure we were comfortable. The town of Vashon is an easy 5 minute drive away. We would stay here again.

We had a very pleasant stay. Everything was thoughtfully detailed. The upstairs sitting area was our favorite place to hang out, and that was in addition to a living room downstairs.

Nice little house!

We'd stay here again. Host was friendly and accessible. House was small (as expected), but really nice and very clean. Bright and welcoming. The only downside is that the house number sign was a little hard to see from the road, but that was easy to get used to.

Perfect get away

This outstanding property on vashon Island with It's very easy access by car to the ferry system and or water taxi it an ideal location to explore Seattle and the northwest. Host was great, place was ready on time. Check out was easy. Very quite and relaxing. Kitchen had all you need to cook meals. There was clean towels and fresh lines on the bed. I enjoyed my stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Welcoming hosts, beautiful property, best bedding.

Fresh eggs, a bouquet, and a lovely message left in the cottage by the friendly host who introduced herself after we parked. We were encouraged to enjoy the surroundings and pick some apples. We loved the down comforter/pillows and cotton sheets on the bed, and soooooo many amazing quilts to cuddle up with. The check in and check out times are so generous. We would definitely stay here again. We also heard an owl when we got back from dinner, which was really cool.
