About this property

A Touch of Paradise in rural France with heated pool

  • Relax with family or friends at our home from home gite based in the rural hamlet of La Roche de Bord. We are in the Poitou Charente bordering departments of the Deux Sevres, Charente and the Vienne. We have a heated pool for lazy days at the gite or some amazing places to visit in the area, all within a short drive. For beach days La Rochelle is 119km / 1hr 40 drive and well worth a full days visit. We also have a few lakes not far for either fishing, kayaking or swimming.
    The choice is yours!

Beautiful relaxing stay at Les Roches

We have just returned from our wonderful holiday at this beautiful Gite in a lovely rural area of France. Amanda & Graham were the perfect hosts and went above and beyond to ensure we had the most relaxing stay with the use of their pool and sunbeds. The welcome gift of wine and treats was very much appreciated after our long drive from England. Easy access to the motorway is close by for day trips out. We particularly enjoyed visiting La Rochelle and Poitiers and doing everything French style. Amanda was very helpful with information on where to go to eat and drink and we very much enjoyed our last evening eating out with her & Graham. We will definitely return if we visit this area of France again. Thank you both for helping to make our holiday so enjoyable.

We throughly enjoyed our stay with Amanda and Graham, such lovely hosts who couldn’t do enough for us, it felt like we were staying with Friends. The gite was beautiful, home from home with French charm, it had everything we needed. The grounds were beautiful and the pool area was lovely and clean. We visited the local market in Lezay, lots of small towns with in 15 minutes for supermarkets and boulangeries

Perfect relaxing haven, away from it all in France = Bliss

Couldn’t speak more highly of this property and the wonderful welcome we received. Easy to find and well located for winding down in France. We found it clean, comfortable and authentic. Very grateful for helpful and welcoming touches like chilled drinks on arrival and some breakfast basics which we all enjoyed. Everyone slept well in the comfortable beds. Thick walled cottage cool inside despite beautiful hot weather. Towels for the pool, and, oh the pool! Very refreshing. To be honest we were all (teenage daughters included) reluctant to leave. Stunning stars in the dark night sky. I would suggest researching and planning local days/evenings out in advance, at first glance the area seems very quiet but there’s plenty to do if you look. If staying for a fortnight, this is a great base to plan some day trips further afield as well. Gem of a property brought to life by Amanda and Graham who we genuinely loved! Plus Elvis and Ernie their gorgeous little dogs too!

Wunderbare Ferien

Wir wurden von den Gastgebern herzlich empfangen, fanden eine tolle Ferienunterkunft vor und haben hier einen tollen Urlaub verbracht. Der Pool ist toll, der Garten eine Pracht und das Ferienhaus strahlt die pure Gemütlichkeit aus. Der Ort ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Attraktionen in der Region.
