Very friendly staff, great breakfast, coffee and food options for lunch. Also a convenient location to Interlaken West. Room itself was very cozy and clean. Having a few more furniture might have made it even better. Entrance was little tricky with steep steps so could be difficult for older people.

Wow! We're on day 2 of our stay here and I just had to leave a review so I don't forget later... Lol. If there's any change after we leave in a few days, I'll update the review. This hotel is great!! The location is incredible and our room 201 overlooks the river and stunning mountains all around! Beautiful view. Very clean room. The whole hotel seems renovated, from the large wide spiral stairwell that's beautifully tiled, to the room itself with its wooden floor and beautiful bathroom tiles. The room is a nice size with plenty of room for your things (unless you travel with 8 full size suitcases. In that case you may have a problem 😄). The bathroom is small but wonderful. There's actually a medicine cabinet with a mirror! Can't remember the last time I had a medicine cabinet in a hotel room! The shower is nice and hot and has a raised ledge so water stays inside! *They don't provide conditioner so take into account and bring your own. Breakfast is nice. Great bread, good eggs, great coffee, and all kinds of other things. The ladies that run the place are SO nice. Very responsive via email, accommodating, friendly... What more can you ask for?? Bottom line - great location, super clean, looks newly renovated, good breakfast... Would highly recommend!

Family Stay In Interlaken
Great location. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Great breakfast every morning. The rooms are fine and the beds are comfortable. It’s not luxurious, but we were very comfortable.

A Charming Small Hotel
This is a wonderful small hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms vary in size and are clean and modern. There is a very nice breakfast and the Cafe, which is popular with locals, serves good food. Mohler's Bakery just across the street is an added benefit. The Interlaken West train station is just a few blocks away and other services of the Unterseen neighborhood are close at hand.

Loved our stay at the Aarburg! Victoria and Rachel had been so helpful with trip and transport ideas. The guys were also awesome esp at breakfast. Love my latte and our scrambled eggs! They even gave me free latte to go!!!

An enjoyable stay here. Excellent value for money and a unique stay above an excellent cafe. Location is halfway between the 2 railway stations OST and west. Bus stop is close and goes to either station. Our room over looked the Interlaken channel such a lovely view. Remember this is a budget stay so there is no elevator or air con but the windows opened in our room for fresh and coolish air. Comfy bed in good sized room. immaculate bathroom albeit minimum size. Plenty of hot water and a guest lounge with fridge to keep food cool, microwave and tea making. Breakfast included in tariff with amazing coffee and scrambled eggs freshly made to order. I would return but ask for a room on level 1 or pack a smaller case to carry up the stairs.

Location is very pretty, we took so many pics around the area. It is near to Interlaken West and active area. Hotel rooms are setup well with nice views and the breakfast is excellent. The staff is very friendly.

This is a charming hotel situated above a cafe and by a river. Helpful staff who also serve as wait staff at the cafe. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. There is a lounge where guests can make coffee or tea for themselves. Continental breakfast comes with your choice of coffee and scrambled eggs (but only scrambled eggs). Walkable from Interlaken West station but public bus is also available round the corner. Nice 15 minute walk by the river to Interlaken Ost if you are inclined. Enjoyed lunch at the cafe, especially the wraps and tarts.

Thanks for the brief feedback. We actually state in our information that we do not have an elevator just like many other small hotels in Europe. As we have only two floors of accommodation, it is not a big issue for most guests as we help with luggage if they can not manage on their own.

Cozy and very friendly cafe hotel.
I Loved looking out onto the blue glacial river. The owner had great insights to some of the outdoor activities as he had been a canyoneering guide for many years prior. He and the staff were amazing, very friendly, and tried to accommodate as best they could. The rooms were cozy, newly renovated with a simple design. The cafe had wonderful desserts. The free breakfast was simple but enough with cold items. Hot food could be ordered from a menu for additional cost from the cafe.

Great little place located above the cafe. Everyone was very nice especially the owner who offered us great advice on sites to see. Lite breakfast included each morning which was a plus. Located fairly close to the train station and city center but there is a bus which stops close to the hotel. The room had a beautiful view and was plenty spacious. Our bed was pretty hard and there is no elevator which was a bit tough on my knee pain.

Finding the right bed for every guest is a tricky one so we are sorry you would have preferred a bit of a softer feel.Having no elevator in a building with only two floors is something most people do not mind, but yes, if anyone is reading this and they do not like or can't manage stairs, they are unavoidable in our little property.Safe travels.

Great service.check in / out was easy. They even hauled our luggage. Views were espectacular, breakfast was very good, specially the coffee. Of course rooms were warm due to the heat wave. The fan helped! I will recommend it 100%.

Amazing
This hotel was perfect!! We stayed on the second floor in a mountain view room and it was incredible to wake up to that view every morning. The bed was comfortable, bathroom is updated and the room was clean. The location in incredible because it's a 3 minute walk into the "downtown" area but far enough away where you can sleep with the windows open and have a quiet night's sleep. The breakfast was amazing. Homemade yogurts, juices, fresh baked breads and croissants, and made to order coffee/hot chocolate and eggs. Truly the best breakfast a hotel has offered us during our two week Euro-trip. The hotel only has 9 rooms so it had the boutique feel which we loved. It's about a 7 minute walk from the west train station. And about a 15 minute walk to the east side of Interlaken. Interlaken itself is amazing and when we come back we will most definitely be staying at the Aaburg!

Great Hotel
Excellent hotel, breakfast was great and the room was lovely and extremely clean with a new modern bathroom! We had the balcony room and although the room was on the small side the views were incredible! The hotel also gave us a key for a room we could store our luggage in. Everyone working there was so nice and the food was delicious- would definitely return to The Aarburg

Our stay at the Aarburg hotel was great!! The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. They had great recommendations for daily activities. The hotel was clean and well kept. The balcony room can be a little tight for travelers with large luggage so I would opt for a larger room if this applies to you. Hotel was in a great location walking distance to restaurants but in a quieter location that feels less touristy.

Well maintained property which is close to the interlaken west station. The view from our room was amazing and picturesque, plus the breakfast was amazing too. Overall a convenient location even with a car to explore Jungfrau and other parts of interlaken. Picturesque views and well maintained rooms with good breakfast

Tim and Kat were so welcoming. The rooms are warm and inviting and have all you need. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Suggestions by our hosts were all pleasing. What a beautiful property. You can share a drink in the lobby and connect with these wonderful people. Location was amazing and close to the train station, buses, and many choices to eat.
