Keszthely

"If I traveled to Keszthely again, I would pick the same place. The owners were very hospitable and very helpful in arranging extra activities, like our bike rental. Practical bonuses: a fridge in the room, a coffee maker in the main hall, complimentary tea and coffee; all making it possible to grab a snack before going out in the morning. The neighbourhood is lovely and quiet, whereas the lake, the beach and the center of Keszthely are within a walking distance. Overall, I would recommend it...

Top Ukk Hotel Reviews

Ensana Thermal Hévíz

10/10 Excellent

"👍👍👍"

Bonvital Wellness & Gastro Hotel Hévíz - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"The rooms were clean, the staff were great, the location can't be beat if you are going to the thermal lake and walking around town. It also has a very nice bar for socializing over drinks. The only glitch for us was the included meals. We had a vegetarian with us and for her the food didn't hit the mark. However, for most people, the hotel should be a great place to stay."

Le Primore Hotel & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"Originally, booked for two nights as a way to explore Hungarian thermal spa area. After first day's experience we extended our stay to six days. Quite nicely appointed structures and decore, lobby, facilities and rooms with the attention to details. Helpful staff always ready to assist. Half board package is adequate, breakfast and dinner well presented and tasty. Few times we grabbed a lunch at the pool bistro. Prices for drinks/wines are higher, but in line with the fivestar designation, I guess. IMHO, the parking in the facility should be included for hotel guests, but in Europe, everybody is trying to make extra charge. I don't think hotel of this level needs to penny-pinch on parking. Please continue to maintain these high standards in today's hard times and we will be back."

Ensana Thermal Sárvár

8/10 Good

"Mostly a very good experience. The pools need a spruce up - weeds growing between the paving stones around the outdoor pool, for example. The refrigerator in the room (was a mini bar in a past life but had nothing in it when we arrived) failed to chill drinks & receptionist said "it is not really a fridge, it is a minibar so its purpose is not to cool". Food is very good, only issue was around my nut allergy. People would move the little labels around so it was hard to see which label referred to which dessert. Otherwise a good experience. Tip: hotel guests can enter the neighbouroung arboretum free of charge. No need to walk outside the hotel grounds and pay for entry."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Ukk?

The best time to visit Ukk is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the natural beauty of the region is at its peak.

During late spring, the countryside around Ukk bursts into life with lush greenery and blooming flowers. The temperatures are comfortably mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, and exploring the local vineyards without the intense heat of summer. It's a lovely time for couples seeking romantic strolls through the scenic landscapes.

Early autumn also offers agreeable weather, with temperatures usually between 10°C and 20°C. The foliage transforms into beautiful shades of red and gold, providing stunning photo opportunities. This period coincides with the grape harvest in the surrounding wine regions, offering visitors the chance to experience local wine festivals and tastings. It's an excellent time for those interested in culinary experiences and cultural immersion.

While summer (July-August) can be warm, often exceeding 30°C, it's also a popular time for lake activities on nearby Lake Balaton.
