All the basics at a good price.
Family-run hotel. Very nice people, and very accommodating. I see from some reviews that picky folk might be bothered that the decor is not the latest, and the tv is CRT instead of flatscreen, but the basics are there: clean room, comfortable bed, etc. And while they didn't provide breakfast on-site, with the money we saved by staying here, we got a great breakfast nearby at Schat's Bakery (down the street, and another one in the Friedman's Home Improvement store). There are some nice choices for a room in Ukiah, and we'll keep this one on our list!

Under renovation
Nice people taking on big project. Pool out of order several rooms striped bear. Outside needs paint up refinishing. Staff was very nice and in 6 to 12 months would give them another try. Family business and family budget foing repairs. I appreciate that so will try them next year.
Aging facility in need of much repair or tear down & replace. I wouldn't want to be there in a rainstorm. Door to the room had a 1" gap & carpet showed signs of having been flooded. Exposed plywood on outside.

The motel needs work/renovation. I was surprised to see a TV that wasn't a flat-screen. BUT it was clean. For the price you really can't ask for much more.
It is what it is. The owners are personable and friendly but don't expect this place to be the Ritz. If you're expectations are in the right place, you'll find the Economy Inn to be what you pay for and that's about it. It served us fine, that's for sure.
It was a very unpleasant experience. The bathroom had no light. The carpet was disgusting. We got "locked in" and when we tried to call the front desk for help, the phone in the room did not work. We had to use our cell phone to call and get someone to come and unlock the door, where as the young man had to take off the window screen and work the lock from the outside. Will never stay again and would never recommend to anyone.
location in downtown ukiah is perfect. Motel is poorly maintained, but room was clean, quiet. Will stay again when on business in Ukiah, ok for one night
Room was clean, Exterior needs a lot of help, Expedia listing says breakfast is included but there is NO BREAKFAST. When I asked, the receptionist said I had coffee in the room... that was breakfast. So it was Ok if your expectations aren't too high.
Very hot in the room, took hours to cool down. No breakfast, online said it had breakfast. Had to call for the internet code that didn't work very well. Good price for a king though.
My gripe is as much about Hotels.com as it is about Economy Inn. I didn't expect much for the $65 price tag, but what I got was far far less. Even "Economy" is too generous. We were driving through town and needed a place to crash and due to nearby fires we were concerned that there would be any rooms in Ukiah. Hotels.com said this was the only hotel with availability so we went ahead and booked a room. (Prepay, no refund). What we got when we checked in was a ramshackle upstairs room with rock hard mattresses, a room temperature of about 90 degrees, and a pervasive smell of curry everywhere. I decided to simply eat the cost of the room and go elsewhere. It turns out there were many rooms available at other places.
Teenagers snd others at city park ran to and from park on sidewalk directly outside bathroom window, and talking so loudly the seemed like they were in the room with me. Also, shower door did not latch , resulting in puddle on floor after shower. No shampoo. Bathroom sink faucets both had only hot water. Receptionist could not provide cross street, due to extreme language barrier. I will not return here.
This was the worst experience of my life when it comes to hotels. The absolute worst stay , didn't even have shampoo .The hair on the shower wall wasn't even ours. I hold your company just as responsible as the hole we stayed in. We will never again use your poor service again. That's how our stay was.
Clerk did not know how to check us in with out help. Only offered one key.
Rooms bathroom was unfinished.
The bed had no padding and a spring etc. made it sorry.
The paint on the bathroom walls was peeling off. When we turned on the heater it stunk up the room with a burning smell. The carpets was so loose, it wrinkled and it was not safe. The walk way upstairs to the room had exposed wood and the outdoor carpeting was torn off and the wood underlayment was exposed. To top off the stay, the hotel booked a lot of construction dump truck drivers who were drinking and yelling across the hotel lot most of the night. How do you sleep when the hotel allows rowdy people to stay there. I am very disappointed with this place. I could have had a better night sleeping in my car.
This hotel is in serious need of maintenance. The office had a horrible overpowering smell that was offensive. The room they gave us was not clean. The bathroom sink was disgusting as if something had backed up in it. The office did allow us to look at two other rooms and select a different one. But after some more thought we chose not to stay at this hotel.
