Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ucmakdere Koyu?
The best area to stay in Uçmakdere Köyü is within the main village itself, especially for those who want to be close to the local activities and the beach.

This charming village is located between lush hills and the Marmara Sea, offering a tranquil escape. The main street, often simply called Köy Yolu, runs through the heart of the village, leading down to the small, pebble beach. Here, you'll find a scattering of guesthouses, local eateries, and small shops. The village maintains a traditional, rural character, with many homes featuring stone and timber construction.

Couples looking for a peaceful getaway will find the village centre appealing. You can enjoy strolls along the shore, dine at a seaside restaurant, or simply relax and take in the natural beauty. The area is also popular for its proximity to paragliding launch sites, offering breathtaking views for those who enjoy adventure.

For those prioritising a quiet stay with direct access to nature, properties just outside the main village, located in the surrounding hills, are an excellent choice.
When is the best time to go to Ucmakdere Koyu?
The best time to visit Ucmakdere Koyu is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, without the intense heat of mid-summer. This makes it ideal for outdoor activities like paragliding, hiking on the forested trails that crisscross the hills, or simply relaxing on the beach. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer season, allowing for a more tranquil experience.

For those looking to enjoy the sea, the water temperatures are comfortable for swimming from late May onwards and remain so through September.
