Comfortable, authentic experience. Wonderful staff
Lovely, lush gardens, perfect size and temperature pool, rooms modest but charming with comfy bed, plenty of hot water and nice shaded patio for sitting. Kadek and the other staff were lovely to deal with - really sweet and cared about your comfort. Ideal location with plenty of restaurants and shopping just outside the door - great walkability to everything including rice terrace trail. Breakfast was very good.

Location and staff were great. You could get to the “high street” in 5 mins. Breakfast was limited but good. Now, my beef with the hotel is there is a hotel across the road that will have live music every single night until 11pm. If you are staying in one of the rooms at the front, you won’t be able to sleep until they finish. Room was clean, however, the bathroom needs a deep cleaning

Staff was amazing!
The staff was amazing! Ejar was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. Very peaceful area but close quick walk to markets and temples. Definitely would stay here again.

We loved the hospitality absolutely first class, location is perfect, food and entertainment is all a short stroll from your room. Breakfast is simple but good quality. I would recommend the Uma Sari as somewhere to stay in Ubud

Charming, quiet room with amazing breakfast
Uma Sari Cottage was amazing! We felt so comfortable there and ended up extending our stay twice. The free breakfast had large portions and was delicious. The pool and garden area was quiet and relaxing. Many restaurants and markets nearby and the Main Street is Ubud is within walking distance. The only downside would be that our roof leaked during major rainstorms and we had to put a bucket under our sink as it also leaked while draining. Book transportation and tours elsewhere as it is substantially cheaper just down the road. Otherwise, we highly recommend this place!

Great location, great hotel
The small hotel is located outside the busy centre in a street with very nice calm cafés and restaurants. There is a great spa and a small supermarket too. To get to the market it takes you 15 minutes. A temple with evening shows is 10 minutes away. The hotel is very nice a clean with a very friendly stuff. I will come again

Bad cleanliness overshadows Balinese hospitality
Towels were smelly, toilet flush was not working and the fruit juice had a fingernail in it, which is an absolute no-go. These weak points overshadowed the great Balinese hospitality

It cannot get better
I read all previous comments by others but we have now been at Uma Sari for 3 weeks. Just love this place. Can not find a negative to say about our stay. I can not think of a better place for the money. The neighbor hood is great I sleep like a rock in AC it is quiet here at night. No bad smells of any kind. The doors lock. It can not get better. I travel 200 days a year each year. This place is a good place.

Very kind and friendly staff! They prepared breakfast for me everyday with a smile on their faces. They always went the extra mile to ask how I was doing and if I needed anything. Overall this is a beautiful cottage right in the heart of ubud.

The staff at this hotel made me feel very welcome and right at home. This was my second stay here, and if I make it back to Bali I would stay here again. The kindness of the staff meant so much to me, and I appreciated all that they did. Such wonderful kind people. I also like the location of the hotel. It is close to some good restaurants, and just a short walk to the Ubud market, the monkey forest and so much more.

At least it didn't colaspe during the earthquake.
Flithy, noisey, poorly designed door that pushes open with with ease despite the lock being engaged. The pool is nice, the bed is comfortable, the breakfast is pretty good too. It needs a deep cleaning, the door issue addressed and something done humanely about the local wild dogs that bark all night long. The only time they shut up was when a 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck the island around 3am. Had a good hour of peace and quiet then.

Stay would have been decent if it wasn’t for the staff taking some of our clothes. We had 100% left them hanging on the back of the bathroom door but only realized this once we had left for Lovina (North Bali). I had contacted them about it right away and they said they would get back to me asap but I never got a response after that. After our stay in Lovina, we came back and asked them where our clothes were and literally all of the staff could not give a straight answer. There was at least 6 of them at reception and no one wanted to take the initiative and actually check the room or look anywhere other than the one computer screen behind the desk for that matter. They said they checked the entire room and found nothing but we were certain they were left in the bathroom. So either they didn’t actually check the entire room and were too embarrassed to admit it (and maybe the guests after us took the clothes) OR whoever checked the room after we had checked out found the clothes and just denied ever finding them. The fact that we lost our clothes isn’t even the issue, the real issue is how terribly the staff dealt with the situation. The experience was confusing and even more so frustrating and I wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone. Find somewhere else.

Basic hotel in need of thorough clean and update
The hotel staff here are mostly very sweet, but that couldn’t make up for the poor state of the hotel. The bathroom flooded (clogged drain), and the sink (that is in the main room) was leaking onto floor. I brought staff up twice to show them, and a third time because a staff member had taken it upon himself to take the sink pipe apart and leave it off waiting to be fixed whenever the plumber arrived.. so I ended up with water all over my feet when I turned the sink on after being told it was fine to wait until the next day for the plumber. (I don’t think staff communicated with each other, neither morning nor evening staff seemed to be aware of what the other had said to me. E.g The morning staff told me the plumber would come the following day so I could relax, shower, and nap in peace but then the evening staff rang my room’s phone an hour later to tell me someone was there to fix it.) When I checked in, the sheets were stained and maybe also dirty. The staff changed them on my request, but the clean ones still were stained. The netting over/around the bed was also visibly dirty. A bit gross to be sleeping under, even though I didn’t pull the netting closed. No mosquitos in the room, though there were many ants when I first arrived but staff and myself sprayed bug spray and I didn’t see them after that. Everything was old & dirty. Mold/dirt on the seal of the fridge. Air conditioning barely worked/was not effective. Location convenient, breakfast adequate.

The room had a really bad damp problem on the walls which made the room smell and the bathroom floor around the toilet was dirty so not sure if this ever got cleaned properly, breakfast was pretty poor aswell eggs were always super slimy on top so couldn’t eat them just had the toast but besides that it’s a great location, very friendly and helpful staff and a good sized room

I stayed the night of the earth quake so this won't be a good review. The building shook pretty hard as was 2 stories up. Was very scary. Non of the staff checked on the quests and there was no health and safety for an emergency.

Friendly staff but rooms a little disappointing.
Great location, friendly staff and room was a normal size however, room smelt very musty/mouldy and paint was chipping off the walls. Reported the smell to the staff but nothing was done about it, despite them saying they would provide an air freshener or insence stick. Bathroom sink and shower had very poor drainage. It would take a whole day for it to drain out. We could not shower on the last day as we would have flooded the room as it had not cleared from the previous day. Bed was comfy and clean and breakfast was nice.

Not welcoming at check in. No internet. Made my friend get out of bed late at night to move the car after we had asked if the car was ok where it was. Breakfast needs improvement, could easily do much better. Not good value for the price.

Worth considering
Positives: Friendly staff, honest - we left a phone behind and they kept it for us, pleasant pool area, great location in the heart of town, good value in comparison with other options locally. Negatives: No hot water at all in the Standard Room, looks a bit dated and not as clean as it could be, small choice for breakfast. Also, we booked two Deluxe Rooms, but upon arrival we were told that only one Deluxe Room and one Standard Room were available. However, if you’re looking for somewhere reasonably priced and fairly good in the centre of Ubud, this is still worth considering.

Our client was supposed to stay at this hotel 4 nights. After the first night due to very bad experience we had to move this family to another hotel. Client complained for the bad level of services for the 3 stars category hotel - poor breakfast, cables running from the wall (danger for injury), insect and small animals in the room due to big holes around the door, very loud room (they heard clients from next room and could not sleep). After this experience our travel agency won't offer this hotel at our portfolio.

Lovely stay
Uma sari cottage was a lovely stay. Staff greeted us very warmly, were always polite and helpful. Rooms were clean as were bathrooms and everything we needed was provided. Wifi was good, we were given two bottles of water a day, and rooms have a lovely view. Its a short walk from the monkey forest and main roads, was nice to be slightly off the main road but still have restaurants, spas, juice bars and mini marts within a couple of minutes walking distance. Only downside was it was a fan rather than air conditioning so was hot at night but really not the end of the world. Very reasonable price! Pool was never busy, in our 5 day stay we only saw one other person in it!

This Hotel is in a good location. There are some good Restaurants in the area. Hotel Staff work hard to ensure your comfort. The Hotel grounds are well maintained. Our Room was comfortable with a large Padio, good ac and comfortable bed. Only 1 english speaking tv channel, and wifi is poor.

Amazing hotel!
I stayed 3 nights here and didn't want to leave. I felt like I was staying in a private little garden of relaxation. The garden and pool area was very relaxing. The location was perfect. Just a short walk to centre of Ubud. Also a short walk to monkey forest and the rice fields. The staff was amazing. So friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was perfect with a menu of many different choices. I personally loved the pineapple pancakes with chocolate, fresh fruit and coffee, different types of cooked eggs were also offered. If you want a great hotel stay here!! I have nothing bad to say about Uma Sari Cottage.

Location! Serenity!
We stayed in April 2018. This small family hotel is in the best location for Ubud and the privste swimming pool is a real treat. We felt as though we had the whole resort to ourselves because of the small number of guests. Breakfast is plain but more than adequate given the fantastic restaurants nearby. Staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. *** website email address is not correct though, this needs to be fixed asap ***

TRANQIL ON A BUDGET
Really enjoyed our stay at Uma Sari. The room was spacious, comfy bed, nice balcony overlooking garden. The bathroom was large but ordinary. One of those that flood the floor even though it was over a bath. The shower head was a bit low for westerners. We had no hot water when we arrived, but super staff soon had that sorted? Very nsmall complex which meant heavenly quietness, but only a hop, step and jump to everything you could possibly want, as in food, shopping etc. Breakfast was menu style with about 8 choices, but truly delicious, coffee not so much, but a really good coffee shop up the road. Staff awesome, friendly and helpful. In would come back, I understand the downstairs rooms had a bathroom with screen which appeals a bit more to me. Really picturesque road with some small rice paddies!!!!

Don’t waste your time.
Would not recommend and would definitely not book again. Toilet was filthy like it’s never been cleaned. There was a trail of ants on my bed as soon as I walked in. No hot water. Second day I walked back mid day to find 6 staff members laughing in the room because I had a lot of stuff and made a mess. Humiliated me. One staff member was good. Not enough to make me remember his name. Was overall very disappointed. Bright side. Cheap. Close enough to everything in ubud. Decent breakfast. Don’t waste your time.

Needs a good cleaning
The room, especially the bathroom is very dirty. Needs a good cleaning. wifi did not work in the room. Breakfast was simply bad. Breakfast is so easy to make so I don't understand how a pancake or an omelette or coffee could be this bad. Definitely will not stay here again.

Good location bad english.
The hotel is ok, no air conditioning or TV as well they did not have extra fans when I required the staff English was not good and they misunderstood many of the things I asked them not sure if they were still on training but at least they always smile. The area is the best part you can just walk 05 minutes and your in the main streets where all shops and restaurants are.

Quieter, cheaper, still in the middle of ubud
It’s in a quiet street (nex tone from Jalan Monkey Forest) so your in the middle of ubud without the hassle! Food and massages are much cheaper in this road to so added bonus!
