Samastiti Jungle Treehouse: private pool above the river, central Ubud

Samastiti Jungle Treehouse is a real wooden treehouse above a small river in central Ubud, with its own private plunge pool in the garden below. It is one of the only jungle treehouses in central Ubud with a private pool, and the whole treehouse is yours.

The treehouse
A romantic canopy bedroom with a queen bed under a traditional wooden roof and mosquito net, air conditioning and an ensuite bathroom. The open living area and terrace look straight into the jungle and over the river. Below the treehouse there is an outdoor kitchenette with a small fridge, sink, stovetop and basic kitchenware. Fast WiFi and a desk make it easy to work remotely. Guests also share an infrared sauna and a washing machine with our neighbouring villas.

The area
A 200 m garden path keeps the treehouse away from the traffic, yet the Yoga Barn is a 5-minute walk via its back entrance, with 50+ cafés and restaurants, yoga studios and spas close by. The Monkey Forest, a supermarket and the shops of central Ubud are about 10 minutes on foot, so you can walk everywhere and skip Ubud's traffic. The Perama bus office nearby makes onward travel across Bali easy.

Close to nature
Most of the time all you hear is the river and the birds. The garden is run with composting, recycling and natural pest control, and the permaculture garden grows bananas, mangosteen, durian and passionfruit in season.

Our team
Our team cleans the treehouse every day and replies to messages within the hour. Before you arrive we send a welcome guide with our favourite restaurants and cafés in Ubud. Self check-in with a key safe; check-in from 3 pm, checkout by 11 am.

Good to know
The treehouse is reached on foot: a 200 m garden path, then about 50 steps down towards the river. Parking is up at the road, so it is not suitable for guests with limited mobility; tell us your arrival time and we will help carry your bags. Because it sits high above the river with open terraces and steep steps, the treehouse is for adults only. This is an open-air treehouse in tropical Bali, so expect the odd gecko or insect and a few leaves on the deck. The Yoga Barn occasionally hosts evening events, which usually finish by 9 pm.
