"First day. Staff had no idea of my booking. Had to wait an hour before i can check in. Bedroom had a swarm of flying bugs everywhere in the bedroom. In addition to batches of larva all over the floor. Ants everywhere. I have photos and video. Is this a property Expedia endorses?
I should at the least get a refund for half the stay.

"We had the privilege of staying in a truly authentic home nestled in the heart of the rice fields, owned by the most wonderful family. The mother, an incredible cook, prepared meals that were simply unforgettable, and their on-site restaurant had a charm of its own. Her daughter and the staff were genuinely kind and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The level of care and hospitality they provided made us feel completely at home. To top it all off, the pool at...

"We didn’t like our stay at this property. It’s just 3 rooms located at a very aloof place. The property is not maintained n no dining option available. "

"This villa is basic and was perfect for me for my one week stay.
I enjoyed privacy, the comfortable sofa on the terrace, and a hot bath in a jungle setting.
Overall it was peaceful aside from some construction noise and traffic in the distance. Lots of frogs too through the night but the sounds of nature are wonderful.
Biggest downside was the road to get to it which is very challenging for cars. Better if you plan to use a scooter or scooter taxi.

"Very poor management! No soap, shampoo, toilet roll or hand towels provided. Shower curtain was rusted. No electrici kettle in the room. We booked 2 king beds 2BDR but ended up getting one king bed and one single bed. Owner did not understand English at all which was a major issue.
Location wise very good! Walking distance to Ubud market"

"When we arrived they claimed they didn’t have our booking, they then tried to put us in a room that was of a lower standard than we had paid for, we had to insist, unfortunately communication was very poor.
This lack of communication made everything very difficult and frustrating.
We booked one of the cottages, which are located on the roof, this resulted in us hearing road noise 24/7
Breakfast was very disappointing, we ended up only eating once at the hotel.
The bathroom had no storage...

"We absolutely loved our stay. The resort was luxurious and beautiful. The staff were amazing. We stayed in the rice terrace view private pool villa. The view and sunrise from tje room was fantastic. The private infinity pool is actually quite big. The resort also has a riverfront walk which is really pleasant and you can hear the noises of the jungle while you walk along it. The breakfast and Peking duck was fantastic. And all the food is halal. I would highly recommend."
"The best part of this property is by far the staff. They are so friendly and helpful. Arjawa the bellman explained everything i needed to know about the hotel and the amenities from what time breakfast to how many times they clean the rooms. Pebri, Agung and Komang who were my servers at Brasserie restaurant were amazing always smiling and making sure I was doing great. Sumi was the supervisor at Brasserie and always greated me with a smile and also went out of her to make sure I was well taken care of.
At the Bamboo bar I was well taken care of by Putra the bartender there. Amazing drinks amazing service. And Wirta also made sure I was great bringing me towels and always greeting me by name.
The food was great at Brasserie I ate there 3 times a day if that tells you anything.
So if ever you are in Ubud and want a luxurious place to stay and great staff to treat you amazing I would highly recommend The Alaya Resort."
"Beautiful place and great service all around. It is not convenient to get around and some distance from town. But if you are looking for a calm place to rest and chill, this is excellent.
We ordered grab food and the staff even helped to collect it and send it to our room."
