The house was very cute and clean, there was a very quick and easy walk to the beach, and the owner is very easy to get in touch with. We absolutely loved the swing beds on the porch! We had a great stay, just wish it was longer. Such a fun and cozy cottage that is beautifully decorated. The porch and porch swings are amazing and would have loved to have spent more time there but it was a little chilly during our stay. We cooked dinner one night with fresh seafood from the fish market and made breakfast every morning. Kids loved the pool, ping pong, hot tub, and pool toys. The host was very responsive. We arrived during a heat wave and missy checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable.great home base for exploring the island, and close to Savannah. If you ask the four kids what their favorite part of our Tybee vacation was they would answer the house! Our favorite was the front porch with the amazing swings and the pool in the backyard. The landscaping around the house provides a secluded tropical pool experience. The location of the house is centrally located on Tybee, easy to get to the Pier and lighthouse. The beach is a 2min bike ride away, beautiful dunes, sand, sun and ocean! We rented bikes allowing us to get around without a car all week. We hope to get back to Tybee again and when we do we hope the Salty Mermaid Cottage is available as it made the vacation! ##### Nicole M. The beds were comfortable and the house was well stocked with anything needed. The quaint porch and backyard oasis were our favorite hangout locations for any time of day. The host, Missy, was very responsive before and during our stay. She even helped us out with an earlier check in to accommodate early flights from out of state. The location is great for the beach and easy walking since it is a nice mid-point of Tybee. The over all consensus was it was "the cutest VRBO ever" by the entire group. This place was exactly as depicted. It was awesome. For workaholics like us, we were able to unwind in this cute beach home that had everything you needed. The porch swings are the best and great for relaxing while listening to the birds sing. The pool was welcoming and very clean. We rented the golf cart during our stay, and it was a blast driving the backroads on the island. The beach is close by and easily accessible. This fabulous cottage has absolutely everything you need for the perfect vacation. All of the outdoor amenities including the hanging beds, heated pool, hot tub, fire pit, corn hole, ping ping table, and plenty of comfortable outdoor adirondacks and loungers are amazing. And inside no detail has been overlooked with gorgeous decore, super comfy beds and bedding, plenty of towels, fully loaded kitchen with great cooking options, and the cutest tableware and dishes. The location is also great with beautiful lush backyard landscaping and just a short walk to the beach. Missy was the perfect host and very kind and accommodating. We can’t wait to visit again! I have 2 teens and it is important for everyone to have their own space and this house was everything we needed. Everyone had their own bedroom - all of the beds were super comfortable. The outdoor spaces were great. The porch area with the bed swings also provided a space to just relax and unwind. The pool and hot tub were fabulous and we enjoyed both while there. The house is just overall very cozy. We all thought it was just the perfect place for us. The property is so close to the beach and to the local grocery. It is also about 30 minutes from Savannah. So we were able to get some beach time in as well as tour beautiful Savannah. You wont go wrong renting this house. Its cozy, beautifully decorated, quiet, enough room to have family time, and enough spaces for everyone to have a little solitude. The host has thought of everything you need for your stay. The swings on the porch were our favorite part! I read other reviews that say it’s a very short walk to the beach…I wouldn’t say that. Best to drive and park, which can get pricey. The pool is very small but serves its purpose for a quick dip. The owner was VERY attentive and responsive. Also loved how stocked the place was w body wash, shampoo, kitchen products, cleaning products, laundry detergent etc. It was amazing…far more provided than any other house I’ve rented! Plenty of fans provided as well (if you have to sleep w a fan like me!). We did have a raccoon walk right by us and up the steps to the kitchen porch so don’t leave any food/garbage outside! Tybee is our happy place and we have stayed in many great rentals. This was our first time staying at Salty Mermaid Cottage and we all agreed it was our favorite house! The details make the difference. Clean. Gorgeously decorated. So many little touches of convenience: coffee machines, paper products, pool toys and towels, beach chairs and toys, hair dryers, books and board games! From the front porch bed swings to the the pool area to the ping pong and cornhole, there was a spot and activity for everyone! The kids lived in the pool and hot tub! The back deck has one of the best spots for watching the sunset over the marsh side of the island. We could easily keep an eye on the kids while enjoying cocktails. The location was just close enough to the beach but also set away from the commotion of the night life. Of course the nightlife is just a short golf cart ride away. We loved staying in this area of the island. Host was very responsive to our needs. We can’t wait to return! ##### Erin D.
