This place is amazing! I stayed in the bunkhouse and the pictures do not even do justice. When designing this hotel, no detail was overlooked. I loved the small touches like real glasses. No plastic cups by the ice bucket! Moniqua, the owner, checked me in and took time to talk to me and got me a drink. Stacy, the chef, was more than happy to cook just about anything the guests wanted, at any time. She even made me a small birthday cake. It was FANTASTIC! Matt took time to share conversation and Marcus whipped up great drinks. While they normally had a staff of 23 (I think), these four people are making this hotel work. I was fortunate to go in early April, during COVID-19, and I am so glad that I went. I loved having the opportunity to meet such wonderful people, although I think if it were a normal, functioning day they still would have been just as helpful and wonderful. I was a solo traveler and I felt completely safe at the hotel and the surrounding area. The price for the room, drinks, and food was reasonable (actually lower than I expected). The Downtown Clifton treats their guests like family. My only piece of advice for future guests: There is a train that runs at about 6:30 a.m. with the world's longest horn warning (It seemed like!). I had earplugs with me but I didn't think I needed them, until I did. This isn't a complaint as the hotel can do nothing about the train, but just a heads up for any other guests who are in #10 at the bunkhouse.

Like most recently built hotels, it does not have carpeting. In my room (10) the TV is located to be viewed from the bed and can not be seen from the very comfortable sitting area. Despite these quibbles, my room was quite roomy and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
