The open plan living / kitchen and dining area has a Juliet balcony that accentuates the amazing vista and creates a bright and airy feel to the property. There are two ample bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower room, St Mawes is one of the most exclusive traditional villages in the Country, with a wealth of activities within close reach. Historic Castles from the era of Henry VIII, glistening blue waters, bustling beaches, Cornish Pubs, award-winning restaurants, amazing coastal walks, ferries to different locations, little motor boats, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards, all available for rental. (During the season) The Roseland peninsula has a huge variety of places to explore, there are many beaches, some with golden sands, some with shingle, all with a splattering of rock pools, there are secluded coves, towering cliffs, and the famous lighthouse at St Anthony. (Fraggle Rock for everyone of a certain age!) The artists' haven of Portscatho is well worth a visit, as is Veryan. with its famous round houses. Accommodation Communal entrance hall and stair case to 3rd floor. There is a lift, however, if you have disability issues then do not book as we cannot guarantee that it is always working. Stayed in Pennant 5 day, myself and 3 kids. The flat is perfectly placed, easy to access pubs and the beaches plus you have a great view. The flat itself is well furnished and kitchen has everything you need, even stuff for baking with the kids!! It was also really clean and fresh when we arrived. Would definitely stay again if coming back to St Mawes. It was light and airy and the big plus was the view of the harbour and estuary. The books were interesting. The paintings and placemats were appreciated. A few improvements needed...we both hit our head on the air-extractor over the hob but you probably can’t remedy that. The shower was extremely slow to drain, the clothes washer was noisy, and there was no spare black bin bag to help us pack up, although the instructions said we should use the bags provided. But we would still choose to stay in the lovely apartment again if we have the opportunity. ##### Daphne B. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 23 May 2025 #### A lovely place to stay Pennant is spacious, comfortable, well designed with lovely furnishings and spectacular views across the harbour. Unfortunately the lift was out of order which meant climbing up 48 steps with two landings - a struggle with luggage. However, this didn't spoil our stay in the magical harbour village of St Mawes. There are plentiful places to eat, lovely shops, a Co-op, post office and a large public car park, which was quite reasonable, plus the harbour carpark which was more expensive but very convenient. There is a regular ferry service to transport you across the water. FAL cottages, who manage the property, were very friendly and helpful.
