About this property

Large Traditional Cornish Stone Cottage In Portloe Village - The Roseland AONB

  • Farm Cottage nestles into the valley beside the stream leading to the attractive harbour about 100 metres away. The Ship Inn is a local Community owned Pub specialising in locally produced food and drink (voted 2026 Most Loved Pub in Cornwall) - The Ship is just up the road, less than two minutes walk from Farm Cottage. We regularly swim in the harbour and from nearby coves and walk the cliff path and field trails. If you play tennis bring your kit as there are lovely courts nearby in Veryan. Portloe has a community pop up shop selling home baked produce on Saturdays in high season.
The Lugger Hotel offering outstanding local produce and service is situated 200m away down in the harbour for a special lunch or dinner. Portloe is situated in the Roseland section of the South Coast Central Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is perfectly located for walks on the South Cornish Coastal path. Portloe is the quintessential sleepy fishing village that has been featured in many a television series including the series by Rosamunde Pilcher and The Camomile Lawn. Farm Cottage was originally the village Farm House and having been subjected to major renovation is warm and comfortable yet stylish and light filled with many paintings and works by local artists.
Modern communications have reached Portloe with a good 4G mobile signal. High speed fibre broadband is provided within Farm Cottage with a recent upgrade to ensure better coverage throughout. The TV is smart so you can catch your favourite shows. A Sonos sound system has been installed in the sitting room, providing great sounds from Amazon music, Spotify and all BBC Sounds.

There is usually wine & beers in the outside fridge for when you arrive so make yourself at home. Ideally please replace like with like, but don't feel too bad about a bottle or two - as long as you enjoy your stay in Farm Cottage and come back next year!
