Recommended
Well located for all the main sights of Trondheim. Close to train station and there’s also an airport bus stop right outside. Room was well equipped with kettle, mini fridge, iron, hairdryer & even an umbrella! Staff were friendly & helpful. Would stay again.

Great location
Great location and beautiful building. We loved the generous buffet breakfast. Very very popular place to stay for large groups, families and all ages so breakfast got busy after 9:30am! Gym is tiny but functional! U would say though I found the heating was turned up too high - it should be turned down to 18 degrees for optional sleeping temperature!

Great Hotel for Visiting Trondheim
We had a fantastic stay at the Thon Hotel Nidaros in Trondheim. The hotel is lovely from the outside and warm and inviting on the inside. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, they assisted us with all questions and were always willing to help. Rooms are on the smaller side (at least for an American) but was comfortable and had all the necessities. The breakfast spread was massive and phenomenal. The location of the hotel is perfect for visiting Trondheim, it was an easy bus ride from the airport and the hotel was only a couple minute walk from the stop. It is easy walking distance to multiple sites, restaurants, pubs and other shops, and it only took us about 5 minutes to walk from the hotel to the train station. The ease of our stay made us wish we had more time to spend in Trondheim and at the Thon Hotel Nidaros.

Nice hotel for one night stay
We enjoyed our 1 night stay. Wished there were parking options closer to the hotel. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Good location close to everything.

Staff were very helpful as we were Ill when we arrived. Even contacted the local hospital. Nice breakfast. Loved the heated floor in bathroom.

There was no air conditioning in the room. I was able to open the window in the room, but it was above a noisy alley. The hotel is in a great location, and very handy if arriving or leaving on the train.

The interior design of both guest rooms and lobby spaces was really extraordinary! Bright colors, lots of gold, unusual juxtaposition of patterns. It was so lively! Everyone in Trondheim is super friendly and helpful, an extra bonus.

Too small and too stuffy.
Hotel is great. However, they stuck us in a tiny room with a tiny bathroom and the room was stuffy and hot. Windows face another building's wall and the windows would only open in a very small way.

This hotel is in a convenient location close to restaurants, shopping, and major sites. We did not need a rental car here, as it is easy to walk around Trondheim. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and modern, and we loved the full breakfast. We would stay here again!

Half the price of sister hotel, twice the value.
Business trip. Needed to take the ferry each morning so location was perfect. Left before breakfast, so reception arranged a packed lunch for me. Bonus buffet in the evenings- great mushroom soup!

Nice old hotel, with a great breakfast
Beautiful old hotel close to nearly everything we wanted to see. Does not have parking so unloading and loading is a real problem. Small European room without a view unless you can call a wall of the next building a view. Close to several nice restaurants. An outstanding breakfast.

Great location. All attractions were within walking distance. Room was clean and spacious. Staff was unfailingly courteous and helpful. We were particularly impressed with the complimentary dinner and breakfast. Both were generous and delicious. Would stay again without hesitation. Five stars in every category.

Great breakfast
Nice hotel, service good but the desk agent should not stereotype older people. Put us in the newer building because it's less noisy. We lived in a large city, DT. We are accustomed to noisy streets. We later asked to be moved and the agent moved us the same night. In the second room, in the older building, we noticed no street noise but for a few cars. Breakfast is lavish, very good. No body lotion in the rooms, seems like a practice for this type of Thon hotel. They were able to supply body lotion at the front desk.

Cosy hotel
Excellent hotel in the middle of Old city. Close to station and busstop for Flybus. Fantastic breakfast and smiling and helpful staff. Small rooms but very clean and bathroom tiptop.

Would have liked to stay more!!
We stayed one night only just to sleep before reaching the next destination but the hotel was so comfortable that we wish we stayed here more nights! Nice to have breakfast at 7.30 to avoid the crowd. Nice also to enforce people to wearing mask in the common places.
