You get what you came for

Trogir is a small island near Split. No vehicles are permitted, so you park on the mainland and take a short stroll over a bridge to the village. It is beautifully preserved in the late medieval to early renaissance style. That means cobbled narrow passages with irregular footing. The hotel Villa Carrera is a beautifully maintained building of the period. The desk is a one flight walk up and the rooms are another flight up. Our room was under the eaves and very atmospheric. It had all the modern conveniences while maintaining the charm of the period. If you want an excellent, historic property in an amazing setting, this hotel fits the bill. Breakfast is simple but ample and the staff was helpful and attentive. The only negative is for anyone with challenges with stairs.

Bra hotell med bra läge

Ett trevligt litet hotell med jättebra läge i gamla stan. Vi bodde 4 nätter, 4 personer i en vindslägenhet som var rymlig. Nackdelen var att man drog huvudet i snedtaket lite då och då, samt att AC:n inte "nådde" in till det sovrum som fanns. Wifi fungerade bara delvis, beroende på vilken typ av telefon. Hotellet skulle inte fungera för personer som inte kan/vill gå i trappor eller småbarnsfamiljer, pga trappa även i lägenheten/hotellrummet, (i alla fall detta som vi bodde i). En enklare bra frukostbuffé ingick. Det tog bara några minuter att promenera till kajen där taxibåtar gick regelbundet till en bra badstrand. Det fanns flera helt okej restauranter i området samt glassförsäljning i vartannat gathörn. Skulle absolut kunna bo här igen om vi kommer till Trogir någon mer gång.

Flott beliggenhet midt i strøket

Veldig god opplevelse med hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening. Ble møtt av en blid og trivelig kar på taxiholdeplassen som fulgte oss helt til rommet. Da vi måtte ha ny koffert sendte de en kar til Split for å ordne dette for oss. Fantastisk. Enkel men grei frokost.

Little Dubrovnik, if you don't have the time to go

We thought if we stayed a night in Trogir it would have to be in the old town. Good decision, but parking is a bit of a pain. Ended up in the marina lot across the bridge.

Great Location in the center of Old Town Trogir

Upon arriving, our taxi driver called Villa Carrara. The Front desk staff came out to the main road/closest access to old town to meet us and help with bags. The tastefully renovated room (in centuries old 3 story building) had plenty of light, antiques, comfortable bed and looked out over shops in the square. For our departure the night staff walked us (at 4:45 am) to the airport taxi that they had reserved for us the day before.

Mitt i stan!

Mycket trevligt hotell. Vi stannade två nätter för att se Trogirs gamla stad och omgivningen. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Positiv överraskning var att enklare frukostbuffe ingick trots att detta inte stod i bokningen. Wifi fungerade utmärkt för oss (vi bodde i en av de översta lägenheterna (nr 1)). Stadsljudet störde inte nämnvärt med stängda fönster. Dock skall nämnas att domkyrkan ringer för morgonmässa 5.30 varje morgon, vilket låter rätt mycket. Bra AC. Dåligt urval av kabelkanaler på TVn.

Fantastic!

We were really pleased with our stay at Villa Carrara - the location is great and the price is very reasonable! The staff were very welcoming & we felt very at home. The ice cream parlour, owned by the same people, below, is an absolute must! Only downside was that the hot water didn't last long, so showers got a bit chilly!

The location is really spot on! Staff was helpfull with rental car and because we were only guests, (early season), we got to choose our room ourself! Rooms are very spacious and the view is great! Kaikki sujui, kuten piti. Ystävällinen henkilökunta ja todella auttavaista mm. vuokra-auton kanssa. Huoneet on yllättävän isoja ja viihtyisiä. Todella siistiä! Ainoa pienen pieni miinus oli pienet suihkutilat, mutta ei missään nimessä este uudelle yöpymiselle.

Detta hotell ligger mitt i de centrala delarna av trogir nära strandpromenaden. Rekommenderas varmt! Det negativa som finns att anmärka på är ganska basal frukost med toast, kokt ägg och yoghurt. I övrigt jättebra!

Cute old building

The service was friendly and nice, the building just as cute as all the other buildings around. The room was basically neat, only dust on shelves, tops and corners. Because of the location, we didn't expect it to be too silent, so it didn't really bother us at all. I'd go there again.
