Romantic & private cabin on Rogue River, 1 hr from Crater Lake
Nestled along the banks of the Rogue River, the Rogue River Lodge is one of the earliest known lodges built in the Upper Rogue Valley that is still in existence today. Completed in 1937 as part of the original lodge, the cabin has been lovingly restored to reflect the ambiance of the mid 1930's era. Step back into a simpler time with our one bedroom cabin with amenities that include an antique kitchen, bathroom, sitting room and French doors that open onto a spacious deck, just feet away from the Rogue River.
Enjoy a peaceful afternoon on the deck watching for bald eagles flying and salmon jumping or just drift off to sleep listening to the light rapids of the Rogue.
This cozy home-away-from -home sleeps up to four persons, with a queen bed in the bedroom, and a double fold out futon bed in the living area. There is also a riverside hot tub and dry/moist 2 person sauna for our guests' enjoyment.
Rogue River Lodge offers an amazing range of things to do in the nearby area. Whether it’s a round of golf, fishing, hiking or wine tasting in the summer or skiing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing in the winter there are plenty of opportunities to explore the sights and tastes of the region, year round.
Our cabin was also named one of the 14 most romantic cabins in Oregon in 2021!
**The cabin is not ADA and does have one small step. It is adjacent to a riverside event venue and event center which is popular during the summer and on a public river access for boaters.
Keywords: The cabin is ideal for tourists & locals - located just 30 minutes from Medford, and 50 miles to Crater Lake, minutes from Lost Creek Lake, and a short drive to Prospect and Union Creek.

Great location on the river close to Crater lake. The outdoor space was amazing and it was nice sleeping with the doors open to hear the river and feel the cool air.
Would definitely stay again.
This was the perfect place to relax and re-set. A friend recommended and so glad we came!

Gorgeous cozy cabin on the Rogue River. It’s about an hour from Crater Lake. Perfect location, the cabin is rustic, old fashioned and cozy. The river views are amazing. Sitting on the deck looking at the river was the most peaceful moments I have had in a long time. There is a convenient store about a mile away with a Mexican family that makes delicious burritos. I recommend and would definitely go back. I fell in love with this place.
We loved the location and charm of this historic cabin right in the Rogue River. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The antique fridge, stove, rock fireplace and log bed were just a few things that we loved. The hot tub and sauna were nice additions. We are looking forward to coming back.
Beautiful location. Stayed two nights and went to Crater. Loved sitting on the deck and listening to the river. Loved the cabin, hot tub, swing and privacy
We absolutely loved the place! So charming and comfortable. We are already talking about when we can come back!! This place was awesome online and it surpassed the listing in person. Unbelievable location on the Rogue.
I booked this cabin as a surprise for my husband’s 30th birthday, and it was the BEST stay we have ever had. The cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway. It is well equipped for a comfortable stay. The highlight of the cabin was its deck with the river view and the hot-tub. Every need was thought off with logs for fire pit to extra towels for hot-tub. We loved our stay here and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend the cabin.
Our expectations were already high, but this cabin was even better than anticipated. It’s quite charming with a mix of antique (1920s stove/fridge) and present day amenities (AC, sauna, hot tub). Beautifully maintained and they allow dogs. I can’t recommend it enough.
We loved it here and hope to come back. The river is the main character and the historic cabin makes this a perfect getaway. If you don’t appreciate a little rustic charm you may not enjoy it as much as we did. There are plenty of amenities like the hot tub and sauna. We enjoyed sitting on the deck every night and watched the spawning salmon. There were many books about the area. The host checked in on us which was so nice. We loved the area and can’t wait to return.

Charming cabin, wonderful location
Such a cute cottage w antique furnishings. So nice and private and able to sit on porch overlooking river. Very private. Private hot tub and sauna. Enclosed yard for our dog. Only glitche was with check in and I don’t think it was their fault. The house was a little Smokey as I think the wind was coming down the flew. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who enjoys privacy and quaintness!
The cabin was cute. It was nice sitting outside on the rocking chairs listening to the river and watching wildlife fly by. The cabin could of been a little cleaner as there were spiderwebs with dust and dead bugs in the base of the coat rack and dead flies around the baseboard of the room with the futon. The futon was not in working order as it appears one of the hinges is not working properly. Overall the cabin was okay but we both felt is could use a little more TLC.
This is a historical cabin on the Rogue River. Like most historical cabins it is small and dark. Fortunately the outdoor space is amazing. This is the perfect place to go for any season except for winter when it would be too dark. It does need some updating. The kitchen is outfitted to match the time of the cabin. Sorting out the fridge and the oven/stove was a little challenging. There is not much room for groceries and it is definitely a one person kitchen. There is a bar to sit at but would have been nice to have had an indoor dining room table if there was room. We ate all of our meals outside which the weather permitted. The property manager was very responsive and great to work with. The property is very private which we appreciated. Lots to do in the area including a trip to Crater Lake. Once again a lovely property to enjoy the great outdoors.
The pictures do not do this cabin justice!! Upon arrival, the property is absolutely beautiful. You can immediately tell the owners care and take pride. Then you walk through the little gate and the experience just keeps getting better! The view is spectacular and the grounds are well kept. You feel like you’re in your own private slice of relaxation.
The cabin is immaculate and incredibly well maintained. Besides the antique accents (amazing fridge and click button switches) it’s hard to believe it’s almost 100 years old.
It’s oozing with both charm and comfort! Everything is well laid out with enough signs posted to give you the details you need, but not overwhelming notes and rules everywhere like some places I’ve stayed. We didn’t want for anything during our stay.
The bed is comfy, but quite soft. I love that, but my partner prefers a firmer mattress. It was rainy and cold while we were there, but I can imagine it being so lovely to sleep with the door open and just be lulled by the sound of the river.
By far one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in a vacation rental.
We had a quiet and enjoyable visit at the Rogue River Lodge. The location was perfect for watching rafter's gliding through the river waters, while enjoying our rocking chairs on the huge deck. One of the highlights of our trip was to take a guided raft float trip down the river. I believe we were on the water almost 4 hours with a super guide whose name was Jamie. I cannot remember the name of the rafting company but it is in with a small take out drink and cinnamon roll place just as you come into Shady Cove from the west. Our small Bichon Friese had a fantastic time investigating the entirely fenced property. She loved running down to the water to check things out. She also enjoyed the large deck where she quickly got used to rafter's floating by. I should mention that I am 74 and my wife is 86. The rafting company took excellent care of us, carefully helping us get in and out of the raft and taking rapids that were exciting but safe. The hosts were away while we were there but left us a contact person in case there were any issues. There were no issues. The queen bed was super comfortable. A good time was had by all! Linda, Ardie and Pebbles❤️
Delightful cabin, hot tub and sauna were relaxing on cold winter evenings. Morning coffee on the deck while watching river otters was lovely. Lots of local hikes and sites to enjoy in the area. Highly recommend!
The cabin was very private and everything was better than expected. It had everything we needed in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. The linens were clean and the hot tub and sauna were working. The location was amazing, as advertised. Highly recommended
