Sit on one of the green benches and read a book with the stunning view as a backdrop. The stone building and hexagonal tiles create a impression of a fortress built into the rock face. Try to pick out your favourite sights from your holiday in Cebu. Spot the coast of Bohol over the horizon and see the communes of Mandaue and Mactan Island. Occasional mists obscure the view, while generating an eerie effect. Stay for the sunset and watch orange hues take hold of the sky over Cebu. View the stars and the lights of the city. Enjoy a romantic meal for two at one of the small restaurants nearby. Pay a fee to access the vista and purchase snacks and drinks from the vendors. Arrive in the late afternoon to avoid the hottest part of the day and get both the day and night views. Bring a jacket to protect against the cold that creeps in at night. Visit the nearby Temple of Leah, with its Romanesque columns, striking pediment and lion statues at the entrance. It stands in front of a spacious plaza with a fountain and also offers superb views. Tops Lookout is on the summit of Mount Busay north of the city. Negotiate a fixed price with a cab driver for the 30-minute taxi ride from central Cebu. Drive past the neighbourhoods of Lahug, Kalunasan and Busay on your way to the mountain viewpoint. If you take a jeepney, note that an uphill 10-minute walkway connects the drop-off point to the lookout area.
