"This is a nice calm place to escape to reconnect with nature and a slower pace of living. There are lots of nature trails to hike. Aveiro and Porto are an hour away, but you have some very unique tourism opportunities about 10 minutes away in S. João da Madeira with their industry tourism and hat and shoe museum!"

"What a very cool place! If you like interesting lodging and nature, you will love this place. It is a bit off the beaten path however, so you'll require a car. Definitely take them up on the offer to stay for dinner. Dona Natalia's home-cooked meals are absolutely delicious (if my Cajun grandmother was Portuguese, she would be Natalia), and a great deal at 15 euros per person, with wine. "

"Fernado & Amelia were very welcoming and had generously left a welcome gift pack. We were given lots of information about services & things to do in the area. The outdoor living space with bbq & outdoor sink and plenty of charcoal together with the pool greatly enhanced our stay in early July. The only downside was there was no airconditioning (our error not noticing when booking) as in the 1st week temperatures were up to 40 degrees but fans were provided. A lovely peaceful setting."

"We had a fantastic holiday. Martine and Dirk are lovely hosts, so welcoming and friendly. The house and the pool are immaculate and very well looked after. We arrived to a fridge full of goodies and food for our first evening - a lovely surprise. Lots to see and do nearby and they provided fantastic suggestions for local restaurants which are not too far away. The pool is perfectly situated and is bathed in sun all day. They have a fabulous pool side house where you can also rest in the shade....

"The property was stunning. Eleana, the property manager, was timely and always provided excellent suggestions. This is your place if you want something quiet and off the beaten path. Not to mention the delicious breakfast with fresh milk, juice, meats, cheese, coffee, bread, and yogurt. I wholeheartedly recommend this place without reservations. "

"From when we first arrived, Paula welcomed us into her home. The house is stunning; lots of period charm with traditional features. However, the best feature of this property is the outside living space. Pictures really do not do it justice. "Propriété indépendante, les enfants ont pu pleinement profiter du très vaste terrain. Très grande surface habitable de la maison, nous étions 10 et chaque famille pouvait avoir son intimité. Gentillesse des propriétaires, merci à Fatima et Tony. Disponibilité et accueil chaleureux de Maria et son mari, merci. Notre séjour s'est super bien passé. Ne manquait que la piscine au sein de la propriété, dommage étant donné le potentiel du jardin. Nous reviendrons si l'occasion se présente!"

"The location was perfect for me, it’s very central in Aveiro. I could see the boats on the canal right on my balcony, along with the bridges.. It was easy to get in even with no front desk. I liked that the room was blackout dark, it made for a good nights’ sleep. There was no parking in the building but the Mercado was close enough and it was about 6euro per day. The only thing I wish they would do is to get better and more comfortable pillows and bed. "
