Everything about the hotel was spot on except that I clearly had two single beds pushed together into a double, and due to the age of the mattress I sank into the one half! Other than that and the slightly sketchy area, it hits the nail on the head

Hotel is well signposted from Motorway. It is a bit isolated but convenient to M8. The checkin was speedy and simple. We ate in the bar and the food was excellent. The lounge was very quite after dinner, no one but ourselves in it so we retired early. The room was very comfortable and spacious and we were glad of the tea/coffee in room.

Breakfast, the Poached eggs and avocado in sourdough toast with rocket was outstanding.
Dinner each evening was a joy.
Hotel with so much history linked to the Castle and the Swiss Cottage it made the stay even more special.
