This hotel is very much a boutique hotel. No elevator or air conditioning but still a very nice and clean room. The decor is shabby chic and bedding is comfortable. The included breakfast is not as much as we have had at other hotels during this trip but a quick yogurt and coffee and croissant does the trick. The staff was very friendly and even took our bags up to our room for us. FYI the parking is not real sat either which was nice.

Staff provided excellent support and instructions for after hours check in since we arrived late by train. Room was sparse and warm as it was on an upper floor, but after windows were open, it cooled off substantially. Balcony was a real highlight. Location was great but not amazing. Fan was provided in advance. My only complaint was breakfast. Honestly, it was substandard. It consisted of a small plate of meat and cheeses, a small selection of yogurts and breads. Small selection of Fruit was available. Only egg option was boiled eggs that had to be prepared by yourself in a machine that took 10 minutes. Even by our European standards, it was probably the poorest of all our breakfasts.

Lovely place and location. The lady who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly, and we were able to check in a couple of hours early, just having to wait a short while as they got it ready for us. I recommend spending the tiny bit extra for the balcony - it was nice sitting out there on a warm evening

A very pleasant stay and excellent service.

A very pleasant stay and excellent service. We were initially concerned about the lack of private parking, but the nearby covered public parking is very close, and the hotel offers a discount for it. The absence of air conditioning was not an issue thanks to the use of fans and ventilators. The location near the city center and the beautiful view of the castle made our stay even more special.

The staff, especially at breakfast were very attentive to the requests we had previous made regarding dietary requirements. They were friendly and informative, especially Jana. 15 mins walk or 5 mins bus from Thun station. Bus stop is next to hotel. So, very convenient. Close to dining, overall great location. Breakfast was ok, not very good. Room and bed very comfortable for a good sleep.

This was such a wonderful stay for us during our 3 nights in Thun. The room was perfect for just two of us and everything was comfortable and clean. I only wish there were a few more outlets in the room to plug our electronics into, but that didn’t pull away from it being such a great hotel. Breakfast was a great option to sit and have a coffee, yogurt, and some fresh pastries before you headed out for the day. I would highly recommend staying here as it is close enough to the train station (10-12minutes), and close to shipping and dining options. Plus we had a view of Thin castle outside our balcony which was great! Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

We visited Switzerland in July as a family of 4, with two children ages 17 and 12. Parking- There is no parking on site, but a very close garage about 2 minutes walk away. You will need to roll your luggage up a small hill from the garage so be prepared for that. The hotel is very well located to the town, and getting around via foot from the hotel is very easy! Check-in- Upon reaching the hotel, there is a small flight of stairs you must go up to enter the front door. Right inside is a restaurant that is Tex-Mex themed (being from Texas, this was a cute surprise) where you will check in and get your key to your room. Our room was outfitted with a queen sized bed and two roller beds for the kids. The windows opened for a nice breeze to keep the room cool, and they even had a fan set up to keep the air flowing. The room itself was clean and comfortable. An amazing bonus was the complementary breakfast every morning! The restaurant had a table waiting for us every day, and the food was perfect for us to get our day started. It's not a full hot breakfast, but a nice mix of meats & cheese, pastries, cold items, fruits, and cereals. Extra- We visited Thun in the middle of our 18 day European Trip, and had heard that there was a great laundry service there right around the block from the hotel. We dropped off our dirty clothes and picked them up the next day folded and sorted. They were fast and it wasn't expensive at all!

The reception was very friendly and helpful. Everything was explained very well. By contrast, the breakfast service in the morning was a bit on the curt side, no explanations, do it yourself. The breakfast buffet, by contrast was well appointed, very satisfactory. The room had everything necessary with one exception: no USB connectivity anywhere. The only electrical connectivity are the Swiss 3 pole plug-ins. There are a number of them but most in places where there is no room to set down a computer. Fortunately, I carry my own plugs, but that should be remedied.

The staff was excellent. They were kind and helpful. Loved the TexMex bar and grill at the hotel. The room was large. I was upgraded to corner room with windows all around. The had cold beverages and snack on the floor all on the honor system which I found charming. My daughter and I wanted to stay our additional two nights instead of moving to the next hotel but could not cancel next reservations without losing our two nights paid. I will definitely return to Thun and the endearing hotel.

Uniquely quirky with Cowboy bar theme. Staff very nice, obliging to every request. Excellent food, buffet breakfast and Texmex dinner. Located next to busy main road roundabout with 24 hour noisy traffic, which you have to get used to over your stay. Reception staff need to inform guests of requirement to be quiet after 22.00, which is a Swiss regulation.

Beautiful old hotel with lots of charm, but because it is a classic, no elevator or AC. Staff was nice and breakfast was exceptional. Get a room with balcony and view of Thun castle — worth it. Easy access by bus to Train Station; walk to town hall
