When traveling we love to find things that are unique to the place we're visiting and stone forts are one thing Ireland is known for. I've read there are still up to 40,000 of them around Ireland even after all this time!

This particular stone fort is very well preserved and deserves a stop on any Ireland road trip. Easily accessible right of the main road, and fun to explore.
Protecting this Irish stone fort are steep slopes and these cute, but a bit ornery, sheep. This one didn't seem to be too impressed that we were wandering around his stone fort and kept a wary eye on us for most of our visit.
