I've read there are still up to 40,000 of them around Ireland even after all this time! This particular stone fort is very well preserved and deserves a stop on any Ireland road trip. Easily accessible right of the main road, and fun to explore.
Protecting this Irish stone fort are steep slopes and these cute, but a bit ornery, sheep. This one didn't seem to be too impressed that we were wandering around his stone fort and kept a wary eye on us for most of our visit.
