It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. Very Nice Place to Stsy Near Kandy

The Hotel is very nice, quiet and relaxing. The staff was wonderful. We would have preferred A/C but otherwise it was very comfortable.
