The front desk staff is nice, but slow and inexperienced. The view of the pool and Tete bridge are lovely. Ordered a chicken salad at the pool, it took an hour. The reception staff was very slow. It’s probably considered THE place to stay in Tete. However, my experience with the staff was less than ideal. I had made an online reservation, but the lady at reception couldn’t find it. The hotel was basically empty, so it wasn’t an issue. English is not widely understood by a lot of the staff, including at reception. I needed to catch a bus to the coast, and the hotel shuttle bus dropped me off at the bus station to purchase a ticket for the next day. They told me they were too busy with other commitments to wait for me a few minutes to take me back to the hotel, so I caught a taxi. When I got back to the hotel, the driver was already back, so obviously I was misled. I asked for a wakeup call at 4:00 am to catch the bus, and they called at 4:30\. My taxi was organized for 5:15 and at 5:00 I was called and told the taxi driver was waiting for me. I explained that I would be ready at the scheduled time, in spite of being called a half hour late. They called back twice before 5:15 asking why I wasn’t ready. Obviously, I was VERY annoyed! Due to the early departure, I missed the buffet breakfast, but was promised anything I wanted prepared and delivered to my room, but instead received a cold boxed meal that was unappetizing.
