Their promo said wheelchair accessible parking so we thought that meant that handicapped people could stay there. When we got there we were told our room was on an upper floor with no elevator. They told us there were no rooms to match our expectations but we were offered a first floor room in an annex which was a very long walk across uneven floors and not the same view or accommodations as we had paid for. They admitted the potential room was inferior to the one we paid for. On the way to check out the room we had to pass through long musty walkways. My wife almost immediately had breathing difficulties due to the musty air. It was immediately obvious that we could not stay. We notified front desk and asked for a refund due to the multiple disappointments and health issue. We have not heard from them since." Pet friendly and self-catering appealed to us. The communication and the welcome to the lovely property, from Sandra, was exceptional. She went out of her way to show us the accommodation and walk us through the pretty village to the local restaurant, telling us a little about the place as we went. The property is immaculate and very cosy with everything you need for a short stay. We would have happily stayed longer and will certainly visit again. The staff at the restaurant were lovely too and the food was excellent and worth the little extra we paid. It's not the cheapest Portuguese restaurant but quite a surprising find in such a small village. We can recommend the steak and the bacalhau. We were very happy with our stay and will return there on our homeward journey. Thank you for the kindness and the welcome we received.
