Jody and Mark have created a welcoming retreat just minutes away from town. This beautiful home welcomed us the moment we pulled up! Mark greeted us and Jody was kind enough to have food provisions for us for the next morning breakfast! We spent 5 days here and it was awesome! My husband and I stayed in the downstairs bedroom (which has it's own bathroom with a nice bathtub!) Our teenage son stayed upstairs with another bathroom (nice and large with a bath). Upstairs there is lots of room for all of use to relax, read, work on puzzles and play board games! There is a nice trundle bed and a large coach with a pull out bed (which we didn't need to use). There is another bedroom upstairs adjacent to the bathroom we could have chosen instead of the downstairs bedroom but we wanted the downstairs bedroom since we could see the wild turkeys and deer from our window. The AC/fans were great both downstairs and upstairs. The kitchen is small but gets the job done. We were able to make breakfast almost every morning thanks to the hot burner Mark showed us how to use - with the copper pans only :) We used the small refrigerator and it worked great! Jody was a superstar and let us put our meat purchases from wonderful local suppliers in her freezer until we left. This is a great retreat for families, couples and girls weekends (I am hoping to return with my besties!) The grounds are beautiful and we were greeted by wild turkeys and deer. All wildlife were very used to humans and were respectful of our space. We spent time in San Miguel, Paso Robles, Creston, SLO, Pismo, Morro Bay and Solvang - this was a great home base. I needed a few things (folding chairs, printouts, ice and Mark and Jody were on it! Wish we had time to enjoy some time out on the wrap around porch with Jody and Mark, hopefully next time! You will not be disappointed to spend time in this beautiful home away from home!
