Gregor thanks you again Hope you enjoyed the Mackerel ##### Ray V. Stayed 7 nights in Jul 2024 ### 6/10 Okay #### Kate B. 18 Apr 2024 Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy Disliked: Cleanliness #### Enjoyable stay Great location and had overall an enjoyable stay & the host’s communication was excellent. Unfortunately the property was not clean & when I’m staying somewhere cleanliness is probably 1 on the most important factors. The cabin smelt of wet dog (mainly the sofa), the rug had that much dog hair on it we had to roll it up & put it out of the way, there where spiders & cobwebs everywhere! My son ended up with a few bits on his legs, It really just needs a good clean, it’s definitely not being cleaned properly after each checkout. It was just a boys trip & most of the time was spent outside, if I had other family members there the cleanliness would have been a much bigger issue!! Probably to the extent of not staying in the cabin. The scenery & location are excellent, the cabin just needs an good clean & it would be overall an excellent experience. ##### Kate B. Stayed 2 nights in Apr 2024 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Victoria 20 Apr 2025 Liked: Amenities A beautiful cabin in stunning surroundings. ##### Victoria Stayed 2 nights in Apr 2025 ### 8/10 Good #### Laura B. 30 Sept 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy We really enjoyed staying at the Duart and would highly recommend it. Sitting on the balcony with a lovely view of Loch Awe was so peaceful. The cabin had everything we needed, the only slight downfall was the lack of WiFi for the kids but this would not put us of returning. The check in was great as the cabin was ready slightly earlier than planned which suited us and was helpful to know the host was on hand if we needed anything. ##### Laura B. Stayed 2 nights in Sep 2025 This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good #### Brian H., Penicuik, 12 Jul 2017 #### First time staying in a cabin we really enjoyed it. Was situated in a lovely spot next to lock The cabin was very nice cosy had everything we needed, was nice and clean, and beautiful surroundings, would definitely look at staying for longer. ##### Brian H. It was very cosy but plenty of room for four adults. Lovely to meet Gregor the host, thank you for the BBQ and wine. Social club is a must for food and a quiet drink! Cabin had everything we needed except. Amazing views of the loch and great sitting area, never got to enjoy this though because of the midges. Cracking spot for fishing too. Would recommend and looking to come back. ##### Joseph C. Well stocked kitchen with cutlery, pots and pans. No phone signal if you're with anyone other than O2\. No wifi in the lodge which we missed on the instructions. ##### Catherine Y. ### 8/10 Good #### Rona D. 16 Jun 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location #### Short trip to cabin in Taynuilt Property was clean and as described. I found it rather cramped and basic. Cabin one of over twenty ranged about the lochside. Communal areas well kept. It is great that the community own and run the bar, shop and restaurant, however they were all closed for most of our visit in June. It was quite a drive to the nearest shops that were open. We had a great trip to Iona one day and a jaunt to the Cruachan power station and dam for another. Also enjoyed St Cronan's Kirk. ##### Rona D. It was fully equipped with all you could need for a holiday. The loch shore is right in front of the cabin and the view as breath taking. The beds were really comfy and all the linen was clean. The whole cabin was very clean. The shower worked well. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night even in the rain. We had an amazing holiday. Saw lots of wildlife in the surrounding area. Gregor was very friendly and welcomed us to the cabin. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who would like to get away from it all for a while. We would definitely come back again and recommend it to friends and family. We would recommend having lunch in the Wild Rowan Cafe in Dalavich. We visited Easedale Island and Mull which were both beautiful. We miss Scotland already and can’t wait to come back. ##### Tina M.
