Only losing one star because the refrigerator broke on the second to last day, which was a shame as we lost some beautiful food from the market. We arrived at the train station and contacted his co-host, Diana to let her know we would meet her at the townhouse. She was just leaving a supermarket a block away and generously offered to pick us up! She showed us around the place, which looked just like the photos. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. We could walk everywhere. The house was clean, nicely decorated and equiped with all the amenities you could possibly want. It is certainly one of the top vacation rentals we have had. The only negative is that you can’t park a car at the unit. We knew that it in advance and took Jose’s advise on where to park, which worked out well and was less than 5 minute walk. The quality of furnishings is very good; comfortable beds and furniture. The outside patios, especially the patio that is on the roof, which can be accessed via the spiral staircase, is a place you can relax and catch the sun whilst having a glass of wine or beer. The kitchen has everything you need not that we used it much as we ate out at the numerous very good restaurants that are within walking distance. Numerous supermarkets and bakeries are nearby - everything you need on your doorstep. Whether you are a family or a couple this is the place to stay in Tavira. This cute apartment sleeps 4 comfortably and the kitchen living area was fully equipped for everything we needed. Within seconds to everything restaurants and pharmacy and minutes to edges of downtown. Only 2 things that hung us up - there is no parking at the house so we had to move the car around; and, the hot water in the showers had one temperature - hot. It is overlooked by a rather ugly building and is adjacent to an alleyway and public parking, which can be busy at times. However, I did not find them that noisy or intrusive but please bear in mind that it was the winter period when I visited and it may be busier and therefore noisier in the summer months. My only suggestion for the owner would be, that the second main bathroom could benefit from a shower enclosure, rather than a shower curtain which I found too small and impractical to use. Apart from that the accommodation was as described. ##### Alison W. Jose was very easy to work with and answered all questions in a timely manner. We were met at the house by Diana and we were given a thorough orientation. The house was clean and well supplied. We did not use the kitchen for cooking but everything seemed to be there is you wanted to pass up all the wonderful restaurants in Tavira and cook yourself. The location could not be better. The house was very quiet other than the couple of days where they were doing construction on the business directly behind the house. Everything worked as it should. The only minor issues we had were the shower curtain, especially the smaller shower (close quarters and the curtain tended to stick to your body) and ants that entered under the doorway. I would highly recommend Jose's property for anyone interested in visiting Tavira. ##### Tom S. Un plus pour les petites attentions comme sel, poivre et autres produits alimentaires, produits ménager et pour la douche, très rare voir inexistants dans les locations. Chambres agréables et confortables. Un bémol pour les extérieurs, la terrasse est vraiment très petite et complètement murée, aucune vue. Pas d'emplacement pour la voiture donc quête journalière et payante. Impossible d'ouvrir les volets directement placés sur la rue à hauteur d'homme, un peu frustrant de rester toujours dans une semie obscurité heureusement qu'il y a le petit patio. Un des toilettes inutilisables... Mais ces détails ne nous ont pas pas empêché de passer d'excellentes vacances. The apartment is absolutely perfectly placed with everything at a 5-10 minute walking distance. It's in a cute side street, right off the main street in the old part of Tavira! My girlfriend and I only had 1 issue with the place overall.. and that was the mattress. it's a bit dated and still has springs which meant we didn't get the best rest after lots of walking, and woke up pretty sore. We couldn't have asked for a better place & host, but we hope they can upgrade the mattress for the next time or next guests! :) ##### Alex S.
