Very good location. We stayed two nights. Really kind and helpful staff. Kitchen gets crowded after 2 people are in it. Music (with loud and heavy base) is played at full volume until 4:30am. Luckily we had earplugs. I would suggest to management to have a noise restriction after a certain time, example after 11pm and before 6am.

Very friendly staff and fellow travelers. Close to the beach. Very helpful to have a kitchen. The whole establishment was very clean and the beds were the most comfortable I have slept in during my two months in Costa Rica.

200 meters away from the beach? Worth the discount

We looked around Tamarindo for the best hostel and landed on Coral Reef. It's off the beach so the price is about $10 a night cheaper than most places for a private room, and the place was an nice if not nicer than the spots we scouted down the road on the beach. We surfed every day and just the 20%? discount at the surf shop next door made the 5 minute longer walk to the surf worthwhile. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, nice common area. If you're looking for a hostel in Tamarindo this place is solid.

Was great stay good people. Need to eliminate the smoke that comes from the resturant that flows through the common area in the morning kinda not nice to try to wake up to But overall I’ll stay there again

Nice and cheap hostel

This hostel is a great place for the price and is very close to everything you need, including the beach and parties. Everything is clean and there is AC in every room. Just bring mosquito spray if you plan to chill in the lobby.
