Pros: The desk staff was courteous and friendly.
Cons: the room temp control, the bathroom fixtures, the electrical outlet in the bathroom
Location: not much
The room was initially too cold, later in the evening (when trying to sleep) it was too hot. Both facets in the bathroom were very difficult to adjust for satisfactory flow and temperature, the shower drain was very slow and backed up when in use even at a very slow rate of flow. The bathroom electrical outlet was too worn out to accept my electric shaver cord plug in. construction work being performed near the hotel started too early in the morning.

Close to events.

Posted 16-Sep-2016
UT is close to downtown and the waterfront. The Tacoma Dome is literally in the back parking lot. The parking garage is in the basement, with a locked gate at night for safety. However, the elevators had a key slot for guests to use to access the elevator service for safety, and it was never turned on during my stay. It made me a bit uncomfortable as anyone could go up to guests floors and rooms directly from the basement parking garage. In addition, at night a few sketchy people were seen hanging around the property. I realized on the 3rd day of my stay that the Homeless Shelter was about 2 blocks away, which would account for the increased number of people on foot later at night.

Nice Place to Stay Near the Dome and Downtown

Posted 25-Aug-2016
Pros: Clean and friendly staff, comfortable beds, good breakfast.
Cons: See my comments above about the height of the toilet seats. Very hard for a person with knee issues.
Location: Right next to the Tacoma Dome and you could walk to the Lemay Car Museum, which is fantastic. Right near Freighthouse Square. Quick ride to downtown
This is a nice, clean hotel, right next to the Tacoma Dome. It is on a quiet street, so no traffic noise. The room was clean. However, two criticisms about the bathroom: 1)no vent in it that I could find, so it steams up immediately from the shower, 2) the toilets must have been installed with children in mind. Didn't see a single child while we were there (2 nights) however. Not even close to standard height, and for guests with disabilities or mobility issues, they're a nightmare. We called the front desk in the evening to inquire if there might be a toilet seat riser and they had no idea. Said housekeeping might have one, but they were gone for the day. The breakfast was excellent, with omelettes or eggs made to order and lots of choices of breakfast items.
