I like the concept of a dog friendly hotel. To see locals of an evening bringing their furry mates for a drink and a chat is marketing gold. This hotel has got it right.

An odd experience, in that there is no hotel staff. All transactions are done via restaurant staff, so do not arrive before check-in as that is when the restaurant opens. No dropping bags off early, as one could do in a normal hotel. Read room descriptions carefully as most do not have private bathroom. Bus stops right outside, which is why they provide ear plugs. Room is comfortable, though lighting poor and no media of course. Restaurant is quite nice, though the surly bartender with the cap needs to find other work, not in the service industry. Rooms do not get serviced and, of course, nobody to ask for help. Don't email them. They do not respond.

Hi Ed,Thanks for your feedback. We are always happy to look after bags for those who arrive early. you just need to call the hotel number so we can let you in. There is somebody on site but the pub is not open until midday. All rooms are listed with ensuite or shared bookings, this information is all there upon booking and in the confirmation email. We have both ensuite rooms & shared bathrooms. We're lucky enough to be just a short stroll from Sydney CBD and therefore the buses may feel a little loud for some of our guests, we do our best and provide earplugs if this bothers anyone. Rooms are serviced on request. All guests are welcome to call the pub number for assistance, or the emergency number listed throughout the venue. The venue is fully staffed from midday until midnight and our staff are always happy to help.

So long as you are ok with shared bathrooms this is a quality stay. Rooms are small but quiet and well presented. Lights next to your bed indicating which of the three bathrooms are occupied makes it work well.

Great value but noisy stay
Chose the hotel as it was cheaper and close to meetings Room was g condition but pretty basic. Heating and hallway light not working. Biggest problem was that the room was on ground floor of Harris st and thin windows. Bring next to a pub and then early traffic made it very noisy and hard to sleep.

Nice boutique style venue. Doors do not open in the pub until midday. Maybe a little more information apon arrival. Staff very friendly. Over all i liked it. You wont be dissapointed.

Fantastic location and accessible to everything in and around Darling Harbor. Clean and relatively comfortable. Room very small so ok for short stay but would not recommend for mor than a night. No storage, limited shelf space in bathroom. We could not even get the basics into the bathroom. Small bench top in bedroom with power board to plug razor etc into. Double bed was a challenge. I'm 190cm and dwarfed it with my wife squeezed in also. Recently decorated and the building itself was nice. OK for a one-night stay.

Friendly bedroom on a bus route that takes you direct into town. Refurbished authentic pub pleasant staff.. share bathrooms but they are spotless. I really enjoyed my stay, lovely walks around in safe neighborhood full of eating and drinking places , yet very quiet and near the water..

Great location and the price was fantastic. Room had everthing we needed, was clean and well presented. The parking at Star City cost more than the room.

Literally nowhere to put even a toothbrush in the bathroom other than toilet seat or floor. Nowhere to hang any clothing. No tv or kettle. No wifi available. Ordered fish and chips in restaurant, wafer thin fish encased in overly thick batter. Overall disappointing.
