We had a mixed stay, we didn't get the room we booked online and was supposedly an upgrade due to it being a bigger room. Problem was that it was very run down, bedding was awful, filthy stained couch, no shower curtain, very mouldy. Manager was decent enough to upgrade us to a much better apartment which was very clean and well presented. I know it's not the fault of management but the street we were in was very sketchy. We were terrified on the last night as we were heading out for ice cream and a man was screaming and chasing another man that he was going to kill him and started to beat him. My daughter was very upset. Both mornings there were Police investigating several complaints. Not really a great place for families with young children.

Hi Brian,We are glad that you found the accommodation you were upgraded to, to be very clean and well presented. We are in a street that is generally quiet and peaceful. We are one block from the beach, and there is a fair amount of people that walk to/from the beach, so it is generally very safe. The incident described is out of the ordinary for our neighbourhood and was out of our control. Beach paradise
Roomy apartment with fully stocked kitchen. Location couldn't be better - so close to the beach and warf and bus stops.

We had a really mixed stay at Waves. Our first room (#14, Family Apartment with Courtyard) was really dirty, dark, lacked facilities. There was a lady loitering in the back (public) courtyard and I realised she was homeless so offered her dinner. The problem was the noise at night, it didn’t feel safe and my kids were frightened. No tissues, old broken iron, missing shelf from the fridge. We really appreciated the change for the second night, otherwise I’d have left for elsewhere. We moved to a much nicer apartment down the street at Lotus. It was much better. They didn’t mention the building works upstairs though. This was at a Waves apartment- we saw the reception guy there. So it was extremely noisy from 7-7. I wouldn’t really recommend, unfortunately.

The place was really dirty : hair and stains on the bed sheets, lot of sand on the couch, floor was full of dirt, the toilet fan sounded like there was a mouse trapped in it. Its dissapointing to pay that much and have something dirty. The location is great though.

This is good for a short stay such as after a night out because you won't want to stay much longer than a few hours. The staff are friendly but it was a little strange having the housekeeper come into our room after we'd checked in so she could look for something allegedly left behind from the previous guest; she didn't find the item. It's at least a short stroll to the beach and restaurants, so that was a bonus!

Good location. A little run down. Bizarrely sheets were wrong way on bed and so too short - had to remake. Key wasn't in lock-box on arrival as arranged so luckily had a mobile number to ring to organise a key at 11pm at night. Otherwise comfy enough.

Location of the property is fantastic, I wouldn't pay for parking especially if you have a car that is bigger than a sedan. Very tight squeeze, our car got scratched and spat on.

The room we were given was small, smelly, dirty and not as shown on Expedia. The toilet was stained, microwave rusty, looked dangerous. Paint peeling off in bathroom. tiny balcony. Dirty walls and floors. Discarded flannel behind TV, rubbish under bed. There wasn’t a courtyard as described was full of rubbish and boxes. The only redeeming feature of the property was the very pleasant and helpful young lady in reception. We also had a parking space at the property which we paid extra for which was a bonus.
