Great access to Chiricahua, Fort Bowie, Coronado National Memorial, Tombstone, and Bisbee or just stay here and enjoy the view from the two lovely outdoor spaces. Wild deer, turkeys, and hummingbirds along with the resident horses, mule and donkey made for a wonderful, relaxing retreat! ##### Maureen A. This is truly an oasis in the high desert. Great place to hang out with friends and to enjoy some local wine and dinner on the patio. Views are stunning, great star gazing and a monsoon lightning show. The house itself is very comfortable and has everything you need. We know we’ll be back for a 3rd visit. ##### Verified traveller ### 10/10 Excellent #### Deanna Z., Scottsdale, AZ 11 Aug 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Beautiful home with amazing views! Everyone owes it to themselves to check out southeastern Arizona. In the shadows of the Chiricauhua mountains, this beautiful home sits near a large, grassy pasture where rescue horses, donkey, and mule call home. This home is definitely off the beaten path, but worth the drive down the dirt road. The home itself is beautiful and comfortable. All kitchen ammenities are provided and the bathrooms are a nice size. Probably the best part of the home are the 2 large patios that are well equipped with enough chairs for everyone to enjoy the beautiful scenery. We will definitely be back!! ##### Deanna Z. Stayed 3 nights in Aug 2022 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Robert W. 15 Aug 2021 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### HIDDEN GEM Will be back. Quiet place to just hang out on the patio reading or ideal basecamp for hiking & birding. Very close to West Turkey Creek trailheads. Easy drive to Rucker Lake Recreation area via Kuykendall Road (great roadside birding). Sharon & Rob were friendly and helpful but respectful of privacy. Guest house well appointed. Kitchen fully equipped with great counter prep space! Master bed comfortable. Plenty of hot water in shower. HVAC handled heat and humidity easily. Only wish it had ceiling fan in master bedroom as I prefer constantly moving air while sleeping. Recommend highly. ##### Robert W. It was a beautiful and peaceful setting for down time away from the hustle and bustle of our normal lives. Every morning we woke to gorgeous sunrises over the mountains, deer grazing in the fields, and wild turkeys adding a little fun viewing pleasure. The home is laid out wonderfully for guests with a split floorplan and is one of the most well-appointed homes we have ever stayed in. Sharon and Rob went above and beyond. We loved the home-baked banana bread, free range chicken eggs, and bottle of wine upon check in. Plenty of reading material, games to play, a fireplace for cool Arizona evenings, high end appliances, and did I mention the view? Rob and Sharon were so kind and have hearts of gold (not only because they have 5 rescue horses and continue to do what they can to help animals and conservation) because of how warm and friendly they were toward my mother and I. They felt like people we have been friends with for years. Would highly recommend! ##### Alyssa S. They’d offered to take care of anything if we needed it but the property was well furnished, well stocked, and had everything we needed to relax. If you’re looking for a place to get away, enjoy quiet, and watch the stars then this is an excellent choice. Just be sure you’re planning to drive as you’re truly away from it all! ##### Jay S. We enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and we enjoyed sitting on the east and west porches. ##### Cindy N. Stayed 6 nights in Dec 2024 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Paul S. 9 Jun 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Special Place After doing a lot of searching and reading we selected this property largely because of the number of good reviews. They were not wrong. This is a very special place that was completely built by the hosts. Everything you need for your stay other than food and clothes are provided should you choose to use them. The kitchen is well stocked with spices, coffee, condiments, and all of the equipment you might need to prepare your meals. Welcoming you is a bottle of local wine, a loaf of banana bread and some fresh eggs. The house is nicely laid out with plenty of space. Three bedrooms and two baths. Especially nice are the very large front and back yard patio spaces where we enjoyed coffee in the morning and a cocktail at night while we watched the wildlife. Deer and turkeys were the most frequent visitors. We also enjoyed interacting with the rescue horses on the property. It is super quiet and really dark at night. You'll see more stars than you can imagine. Cell service here is poor at best but the Wi-Fi is strong and we had no trouble communicating with our computer, phones and using the TV's in the living room and bedroom. (we didn't use the TV's much because it's so delightful outside) The hosts live a short distance away on the same property. They are a wonderful couple who will do anything to make your visit pleasant. Hopefully you will get a chance to chat with them as they have amazing backgrounds. We felt like we were visiting old friends. Can't wait to go back! ##### Paul S. Beautiful mountain vistas from the front patio, gorgeous sunsets from the back patio. The house is clean and comfortable, the kitchen good-sized and well-equipped (don't forget to bring groceries), and the beds provide a good night's sleep. Rob and Sharon are a lovely couple, and greeted us with wine, fresh eggs, and delicious banana bread upon our arrival. There is a dirt road that leads to the property, which is typical for the area. A scenic 30-minute ride to the entrance of Chiricahua National Monument. Good wi-fi, too. ##### Michael S. This is a lovely, quiet place to spend time, with great access to all the wonders of the Chiricahuas. We had heard there were wild turkeys but actually counted 48 this morning! Amazing. House is really tastefully decorated, well maintained, has everything you need in the kitchen. Master bedrooms are separated by the living room which was great for us. Highly recommend! ##### Kathy J. This house is a little piece of heaven tucked away near the Chiricahua National Monument in SE Arizona. The owners, Sharon and Rob, are great hosts and go the extra mile to make sure your stay is excellent and memorable. This was our 2nd stay at their home, and both times we found a dozen fresh eggs in the refrigerator from their chickens. They also rescue horses, mules, donkeys and these amazing animals will often greet you just beyond the spacious patio. If you plan to be in the area - better yet, plan a trip to SE Arizona, be sure to stay at Sharon and Rob's place. You won't be disappointed. The home is beautiful, well-equipped and peaceful. ##### Deanna Z. Very comfortable home with all of the amenities like good Wi-Fi, tv, coffee provided, as well as a bottle of local wine, eggs and homemade banana bread. Sharon and Rob were so accommodating. Comfy beds. Very clean. Lots of turkeys and mule deer. Close to Chiricahua Nat Monument- a must, We also visited the Willcox playa, the ghost town trail, not far to Whitewater Draw (a birding must) and Tombstone. Good hiking. ##### cynthia b. Stayed 3 nights in Feb 2023 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Margaret L., Cadillac 2 Feb 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### ten stars if I could This place was great. The property is located about 20 miles from the nearest store so you have lots of peace and quiet. Along with that you have a national forest boundary less than a mile away. The views are beautiful and they have horses, a mule, a donkey, and there were dozens of turkeys, deer, and even some javelina running around. They are right at the base of the Chiricahua mountains and they were snow covered and beautiful during our stay while it was sunny and mid-50's outside as we visited in January. Despite the remote location the house is fully equipped with everything you would need including hi speed 5g wi-fi. Our best use of this property would be to get a week's worth of groceries and then just enjoy all the surroundings. Chiricahua National Monument is less than 45 minutes away for a couple day trips also. We have stayed at dozens of rental in the last few years and this is for sure one of the best we've visited. we'd give ten stars if we could. ##### Margaret L. It definitely surpassed our expectations which were already quite high based on the description. We were on a cross country road trip and this was our one extended stop for total relaxation. We wanted somewhere close to the Chiricahua National Monument which I wanted to visit my entire adult life. The guest house is only about 40 minutes from the visitor center, a beautiful drive and the Chiricahuas are simply astounding. But then to be able to relax both in the mornings and in the evenings on the patio of the guest house became the actual highlight of our trip. Looking up at the mountains was so special. Sharon is a wonderful host who was extremely responsive to all my questions. And talking with her and her husband were one of the highlights of the trip. We learned so much about the area and its history. Thank you both so much!! ##### Barbara P. Stayed 3 nights in Nov 2022
